  My dog has been getting groomed at different Petco locations ever since he was a puppy. He was diagnosed with epilepsy last month and I was told, by this Petco grooming location, that they would be unable to groom him until he A.) Had a doctor’s note stating he was ok to be groomed and B.) Hadn’t had a seizure in the last month. He’s been doing very well with his medication and hasn’t had a seizure in over a month. I brought him in, with doctors note, and was turned away again because “I was given incorrect information the last time I came in” and it actually needs to be 6 MONTHS with no seizure activity. It’s unfortunate that my dog won’t be able to get groomed at Petco anymore since it’s an unrealistic expectation that a dog with epilepsy won’t have seizure activity, even while on medication, for an entire 6 months (words said by his neurologist). We will be going elsewhere since my otherwise very healthy dog still needs to be groomed.

  The SanMarcos location charged me over $40 more for the exact same service as the Escondido location. It was easy to verify because their computers are linked to each other, and they looked up the service. The manager offered a $25 credit… Why $25 when it was more than $40? Guess I’ll be thankful for what I got, but I won’t go back to this location. My start rating is based on being overcharged and the managers stern attitude When questioning the charges. There should have been no question they had it right there in their computer. The groomer did do a nice job and she did receive a tip.

  Rachel (I hope I got the right name) gave my very fearful and nervous Deeva a beautiful haircut and grooming. Thank you for being kind and patient with my baby! Love the little whispy hairs around her ears. Definitely pricey I’m okay with it if they take good care of her. ❤️

  Grooming was very kind to my dog and they were able to accept us same day for nail trim. I loved the location and the selection of pets as well!

  Very discriminatory. Told us NOT TO RETURN because our 11 yo Goldendoodle had “REALLY bad arthritis” and made it difficult to cut his hair. Ended up shaving him as it was “easiest” for them. THIS RESULT was a 4 hr job.
