  As a long time SF resident one of my least favorite things to see is a declining store. This Petco has gone downhill and is in serious need of attention. Every time I visit, it feels more disorganized and neglected than the last. For such a small store, the checkout lines are consistently ridiculous, often with long waits and very little urgency to move customers through. It’s also surprisingly difficult to find anyone available when you actually need help. The store often feels understaffed and poorly managed, making the overall shopping experience frustrating. The most concerning part was witnessing police respond after a customer attacked someone inside the store. Seeing that happen while shopping was shocking and speaks to the overall atmosphere this location has developed. At this point, it feels like very little care is going into maintaining the store. While there are occasional signs that someone is trying to improve things, it’s nowhere near enough. This location needs major changes—from better management and staffing, but mainly better for the animals and their environment . Until that happens, it’s hard to recommend shopping here.

  Customer service is so awesome! I asked about a previous purchase to see if I was buying the right thing and the cashier took the time to look back at my previous receipts confirm that it was a repeat purchase. Everyone is so helpful and friendly and knowledgeable! Always a great experience!

  The staff are very helpful and welcoming we just got a baby kitten so I needed a lot of help. I found everything I was looking for and staff were so excited for us. They also asked us to bring her in when she’s big enough so they can meet her. 10/10

  Came for fish. The section was pretty small and the fish i wanted (koi) was sold out and actually located in a separate area which felt weird. It was disappointing but them being super friendly and helpful is a plus.

  Had a wonderful experience with the cashier Richard here today. He helped my roommate and I sign up for an exclusive membership that will in the long run save us so much money. He was very kind and considerate and helpful.
