  Good and bad. They close arbitrarily and when I take a required stool sample to another location, because they're closed, other vetco's won't process it unless they see the dog, which i didn't bring. And the excessive delay makes the sample bad. So corporate profits vs easily addressing my sick dog that's in their system. They're not addressing the underlying issue, but discussing expensive foods, and wellness upsells. So spent $491 and have no idea whats wrong with the dog because no actual lab tests, but lots of useless probiotics, and vitamins and upsells. And theres still hundreds of dollars up vaccines that they delay giving until the dog is well. Huge useless time and money waste.

  I had a pretty good experience at this pet store. The place was clean, organized, and had a nice variety of food, toys, treats, and other pet supplies. I was looking for a few things for my dog and found most of what I needed without having to search around too much. The staff was friendly and answered my questions without making me feel rushed. Prices seemed fair compared to other places I’ve been. Everything felt well stocked and taken care of. Overall, it was a convenient stop for pet supplies and I’d definitely come back when I need something again.

  I’ve always had positive experiences with the grooming team at Petco Mira Mesa, so I’m especially disappointed by my experience on 7/22/2026. I had previously contacted Petco Customer Service about a duplicated account issue and was told they couldn’t fix it. I explained this to an associate, who acknowledged it but unfortunately didn’t address it. I later noticed I had unused rewards that were about to expire, so I made another trip to the store to ask if they could be applied. With a newborn baby and two dogs, making an extra trip was not easy. When I asked the associate to apply the reward, he rolled his eyes and yelled, “Apply to WHAT?” I was confused about what he needed from me, so I asked for a manager. Unfortunately, the manager repeatedly told me, “We’ve never done this before,” and that I should have called Customer Service—even though I had already done so and I came all the way back there. Instead of trying to find a solution, the interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. I ended up saving 50 dollars for this one transaction with the corrected information. I understand that not every situation has an easy solution, but I expected basic courtesy and an effort to help. I ultimately cancelled my Petco memberships because of this experience, which is especially unfortunate since this location is convenient, and I’ve always been happy with the grooming staff. I hope Petco takes this feedback seriously and provides better customer-service training to the staff involved.
