  I’ve always had positive experiences with the grooming team at Petco Mira Mesa, so I’m especially disappointed by my experience on 7/22/2026. I had previously contacted Petco Customer Service about a duplicated account issue and was told they couldn’t fix it. I explained this to an associate, who acknowledged it but unfortunately didn’t address it. I later noticed I had unused rewards that were about to expire, so I made another trip to the store to ask if they could be applied. With a newborn baby and two dogs, making an extra trip was not easy. When I asked the associate to apply the reward, he rolled his eyes and yelled, “Apply to WHAT?” I was confused about what he needed from me, so I asked for a manager. Unfortunately, the manager repeatedly told me, “We’ve never done this before,” and that I should have called Customer Service—even though I had already done so and I came all the way back there. Instead of trying to find a solution, the interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. I ended up saving 50 dollars for this one transaction with the corrected information. I understand that not every situation has an easy solution, but I expected basic courtesy and an effort to help. I ultimately cancelled my Petco memberships because of this experience, which is especially unfortunate since this location is convenient, and I’ve always been happy with the grooming staff. I hope Petco takes this feedback seriously and provides better customer-service training to the staff involved.

  Looking for blue buffalo big bag. The shelf was empty. I asked a young man to look for that particular food. For the cat, he went back and got me 2 bags. The shelf still empty. I left with 2 bags. Thank you.

  It’s alright but again the workers gotta known products they are selling whether it’s really good for pets or not. It’s ok to be honest thought. I ask worker if product is good for the pet but I did some research it’s not really recommended . Although he told me to buy it online but I just like going to store sometimes and just buy it in they’re. I don’t want spend on fee of shipping Workers although where nice and does responded

  I have been shopping at Mira Mesa Petco for like 5+ years only reason is close to me! You have the most unhelpful, rude no manners cashiers I have even seen. Does not greet customers at all! Most of the time does not say Thank you! Even when I say thank you! Only a couple of the boys are polite and practice "customer service"!.Made complaints to management several times thru the years. Yet you keep hiring the same caliber employees. There is very little "help" one can find on the floor too. And most of the time, there's stacks of new merchandise smack right in the middle of the store, making the aisles hard to navigate. Just on the whole, very very shameful!!

  Set up an autoship on Petco’s website. I chose to pick up my first order in the Mira Mesa store. I received an email an hour orcso later advising me that my order was available for pickup. When I arrived there was one employee working the register. Otherwise there wasn’t another employee in sight except in the grooming & vet clinic area. The associate behind the register had her headphones on and seemed irritated that I had the nerve to interrupt her music, podcast, audiobook or whatever had captured her attention. Other than asking me my name twice she said nothing. It’s no wonder the store was completely empty except for a couple of dogs in the grooming salon and one person & their dog in the vet clinic. Probably going to cancel my autoship and get my dig’s food from another business or online.
