Banfield Pet Hospital® offers Deworming. Deworming is the administration of medication to eliminate internal parasites (such as roundworms, tapeworms, and hookworms) from an animal's body.

Gastrointestinal illness diagnosis and treatment

Gastrointestinal illness treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® starts with identifying the underlying cause – which can range from dietary issues to infections – and then providing appropriate therapy such as diet changes, fluid therapy, or medication.

General dentistry

All Banfield Pet Hospital® locations offer basic dental care for pets. This may include professional cleanings, dental examinations, or oral surgeries to maintain oral health and prevent diseases.

General surgery

Surgery is a broad category in veterinary medicine. At Banfield Pet Hospital ®, surgeries may include routine spaying and neutering to common operations, performed to address health issues or injuries in animals.

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, we provide microchipping for pets. This process involves inserting a chip under the pet's skin, with a unique ID that can help reunite lost pets with their owners.

Parasite control

Parasite treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® may involve administering medication to eradicate and prevent parasites, such as fleas, ticks, and worms, that infest or infect animals.

Spaying and neutering

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, spaying (for females) and neutering (for males) are surgical procedures performed under anesthesia. These procedures can help prevent unwanted breeding and may reduce the risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues in pets.

Sadly, I will not be bringing my dog back to this location. I live not far from Crocker Village, so this location was very convenient for me. Unfortunately, my experiences there have consistently been met with coldness and rudeness, particularly from the women working at the front desk. I initially tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because I understand that people can have bad days, but after multiple experiences, I can no longer dismiss it that way. I brought my dog, Diggy, in on Sunday, August 9, to have his nails clipped and to have his skin examined because I noticed bumps on his belly and around his penis. For transparency, I am a Black male, and Diggy is a pit bull. Despite the inaccurate stereotypes surrounding pit bulls, Diggy is an incredibly sweet dog. When I walked in, both women at the front desk appeared to ignore me and simultaneously looked away with expressions that came across as disgust. Unfortunately, this was not the first time I experienced this type of behavior from the front desk staff. I initially thought it could have been a coincidence, but when an Asian man and a white woman came in after me and were warmly greeted, I couldn’t help but question whether I was being treated differently. I was not spoken to until I was directed to another room to speak with a male staff member who did not introduce himself or explain his role. He told me they would evaluate Diggy and give me a call. I reluctantly left my dog in his care. A couple of hours later, I received a call from the veterinarian. She was much kinder, informative, and professional, which I genuinely appreciated. She explained what needed to be done and informed me that Diggy was ready to be picked up. Unfortunately, when I returned, I was once again met with coldness and rudeness from the front desk staff. I had to explain AGAIN who I was and that I was there to pick up my dog. The woman assisting me simply told me to pay and wait on the bench. I was not provided a receipt or a breakdown of the services I was charged for. Eventually, a young man came out with Diggy, and he seemed very frantic. I was not given an opportunity to speak with the veterinarian or offered any type of consultation regarding my dog’s visit. Given how I had been treated throughout the entire experience, I left feeling like I had been treated as a second-class citizen. Naturally, that also left me deeply concerned about how my dog may have been treated when I was not present. I was upset and honestly hurt by the experience, so I called the same day to voice my concerns. I asked to speak with the manager. Initially, I was told, “He’s busy,” but then a woman named Karen came on the phone and identified herself as the manager. I explained everything that had happened, and while she apologized and said she would speak with her staff, the apology felt very flat and did not give me much confidence that my concerns were being taken seriously. I was initially going to leave the matter alone, but when I took a closer look at the discharge paperwork, I noticed that it stated I had declined several services that were never actually offered or discussed with me. At that point, I honestly didn’t know what to believe anymore. I currently work in the healthcare industry and assist in managing a crisis residential program for adults. In my professional experience, hospitality, communication, cultural sensitivity, and treating people with dignity are incredibly important when providing any type of service. Those principles should apply in veterinary care as well. I sincerely believe the front desk staff at this location could benefit from additional hospitality, customer service, and cultural sensitivity training. I am not writing this simply because I had a bad experience; I am writing because I believe this location can—and should—do better. Diggy deserved better, and quite frankly, so did I.

Banfield has been my dogs vet all her life. We have had GREAT vets and tech here, and some average. I did not like the quick turnaround of vets. They seem to only stay for 2-3yrs max and we are assigned a new person. My dog had Addisons disease and I’m forever grateful for our vet in natomas Banfield who had dx and saved her. I ended up coming to Crocker more because scheduling appt was much easier here for my senior dog. Our last visit here was the day before I had to say goodbye to my girl. She was 14yrs old and I knew I did not have much time. She had a big tumor on her side that started to bleed and so I took her in the morning before work. I got a call from the vet that afternoon saying they couldn’t do much basically but to stand by and wait for another call once she’s ready for pick up. I’m certain they didn’t do much for her that day which was fine and they mentioned they were very busy. But after picking her up she could no longer use her back legs! I called Banfield asking why she can’t walk, and nobody could give me an explanation. I do not blame Banfield fully because I know my dog was seeing the end of her days, she was weak overall. BUT she came into the vet that morning walking perfectly fine, albeit slow since she’s a senior. Had I known they were just going to keep her in a kennel all day, I would have never let her spend her 2nd to last day in there!! I did not appreciate the lack of communication or empathy that specific day. And unfortunately that is my last impression of Banfield.

We love this office. Our now senior dog, Deuce, has received amazing care there for years. When going to other vets we have spent thousands of dollars on determining what the issues were. We did add the wellness plan and it covered the annual cost in our first visit! Never have we only paid $20 for any pet related service let alone a visit with X-rays. It has added peace of mind to our family. We’re so grateful for the Banfield Crocker.
