Avoid this place like the plague. I brought my cat to this place to address his post-op issues and they were unresponsive when I called back to report that my cat was doing poorly with extreme diarrhea after their treatment. Doctor Ellis never called me back and a staff member told me to monitor him and report back if the diarrhea did not improve. Doctor Ellis never mentioned anything about dangers of not eating for extended period of time in cats. I was forced to take him back so that they could maybe put a feeding tube. It took them three hrs to put together a treatment plan to the tune of $3000 (this was in addition to the $500 I had already paid for the earlier visit). While signing the paperwork, I mentioned that I was disappointed that I never heard back from Doctor Ellis and the fact that he never mentioned anything about dangers of not eating for cats. Upon hearing this, they decided that they did not want to treat my cat and showed me the door. As it turns out, it was for the best because we ended up at VCA animal hospital in Kearny Mesa where they provided excellent care. This place should be closed down, it is that bad!!!!!!

Dr. Drew Wishnack was so good with our twelve year old Mollie. He treated her and us like family. We are still in the middle of the storm but are very thankful for their knowledge, professionalism and kindness. Great staff and state of the art facility. Thank you thank you

We’ve brought every dog we’ve owned here over the years for various emergencies, and the staff has always been professional, friendly, and incredibly caring. Our most recent visit was for our 7‑year‑old bassador. I called ahead as our kids were bringing him in, and we met them there. Dr. Johnson, Dr. Ellis, and the entire team were wonderful despite the circumstances. They were transparent in their assessment, explained everything clearly, and understood how worried we were. The discharge instructions were thorough, and they even followed up a couple of days later to check in and offer their availability anytime. We’re grateful to have this animal ER nearby for our fur babies’ needs.

We thought my dog had potentially eaten something so we took her in. They quickly helped us fill out paperwork and triage her and quickly were able to get her a shot to induce vomiting and had her throw up a small bird (apologies for gross details but it's a vet review). They explained everything and that she's good now. They were very fast and efficient which I appreciated since despite the lack of severity, we were in a time crunch fighting digestion time. Would definitely recommend. There was another patient and I overheard them giving instructions and they were very kind and helpful to repeat everything and helped them weigh the options. Not applicable to my visit but it seemed like they were helpful and honest from what I overheard.

Hello! I wish I could give no stars. This is a much needed review, we got our new poodle on 3/6/26 and me my 2 little girls has been anticipating this for about 2 years since our 1st puppy past after only 1 week. On 3/7/26 she started vomiting and having diarrhea, since I had given her a small piece of seasoned beef, I thought it was my fault, after we noticed that she was not eating, we decided to take her to the pet er. After arriving I noticed that the place seemed sketchy, and very run down. We went inside and told them our pets name (Truffle) and the people behind the counter with no personality, handed me a clip board to fill out and ask us to wait outside, because the symptoms sounds like Parvo, shortly later a lady came outside with a Parvo test, and ask us to hold our pup firmly, while she stuck a q-tip in her back part, and to continue to wait outside for the results, maybe 25 minutes and $235.00 later a different lady came out and told us the bad news that our puppy has Parvo, and ask did we want them., to provide service, immediately my little girls started crying, and saying why, this always happens to us, maybe we don't deserve a puppy 😢. At this point I asked how much were the services, she told me she'll send someone else out with that information. The 3rd lady came out with some papers with the brake down on the prices, the 1st treatment plan was for a whopping $7,944 to $8444.00 which included a 4 day hospital stay along with IV. And a long list of other miscellaneous items. The 2nd treatment plan was for $1184.75 to $1334.75 which included Parvo antibodies and a list of other miscellaneous items. The 3rd treatment plan was for $680.50 which was for them to end her life and cremation. I let them know that my daughter was just out of surgery and was excited about the puppy, and I didn't think it was smart to have services done for a dog that we had just purchased. Then she offered care credit. So I contacted the person that sold me the puppy, and told him, and requested a refund, and made a total fool of myself. He suggested that I take our pup to his vet, 1st I called them back and asked for a retest, on 3/9/26 and they told me it would be another $125.00 then I decided on 3/12/26 to take her to his vet on 3/13/26. Results (NEGATIVE RESULTS FOR PARVO!!!) These people are heartless vultures Avoid this place, at all costs, they don't care about your pet Just your pockets. Please do research!!!!! please take you furry family members to petco.
