  Petco vet services are the Kaiser of animal care. Great when the fur babies are healthy and just need routine check-ups and shots. Injuries are harder to get adequate care, especially since the vets rotate and the quality of notes are not consistent (according to the office itself). All the vets and techs have been great, kind and explain services that I can understand. Except Dr. Lim, I do not prefer her inflexible and highbrow bedside manner. She is extremely competent but she is not a kind person, and was visibly frustrated throughout the visit when I asked clarifying questions since she spoke far above a layperson's comprehension level, even when I articulated my confusion. Oh well. One out of five isn't a deal breaker considering the interaction is 10 minutes short.

  I went to get my was his rabies shot and needed a harness for my cat so I had them measure him before buying one . It did not fit and I called the Petco hotline and spoke to a supervisor who assured me the store would call and refund my money without me having to go to the store since it was their error . Mary just called from this store and argued with me and refused to honor what I was promised. I’ve since completed a BBB complaint against petco.

  My elderly husky has been receiving bathing services from here for the last 2 years. We have always heard back that our dog was well behaved, but that she had difficulty getting on the table for drying/brushing and that she didn’t like her nails done. We know about the nails and so we tell them they don’t have to do it at every drop off. My dog is big and has arthritis so getting on the table is difficult but the groomers all seemed to be okay with doing the service with my dog standing on the ground. I set an appointment for my dog to be bathed and had it canceled on me by the grooming manager because of the “difficulty” of grooming my dog. I called and asked for more clarification and again it came down to my dog not wanting her nails done and not being able to get on the table. I’m disappointed that my dog is being refused service because she’s old and a large breed. It seems they only like to service young and/or small dogs. For obvious reasons, we will not be purchasing from Petco anymore. This is unfortunate because we spend about $400+/month on pet supplies and will now need to travel further to the nearest Petsmart instead.
