I took my cat to see Dr. Bayon or wound followup upon the recommendation of a friend. Dr. Bayon was excellent. He is knowledgable, experienced, efficient, calm and caring.
Staff are very helpful and kind.

They charge $150.00 for a basic exam. I would find somewhere else to go. Also, an additional $50.00 just for a written bill of health on top of medicine and shots. Feels like it’s profits over pets here.

I have a sixteen year old senior tuxedo cat. He spent most of his life as a feral cat. Now, he lives indoors with me. He's very sweet and affectionate, but he's afraid of everyone except for me and my caregiver. I requested that they send their best vet tech to draw his blood and to only stick him once. I also requested that I remain with my cat. He was terrified. The best tech that they had refused to draw his blood. She would only do it away from me in the surgery room. So, a very sweet tech gave it a try. After the second jab, my cat was trembling in fear. She was not able to draw his blood. The vet told me that I was welcome to go somewhere else where they would allow me to go in the surgery room. She also told me that she had to protect her technicians. What was she protecting them from, their own egos? I was very polite and was there for over an hour and a half. While we waited for the sweet vet tech to bring Zorro an injection for pain, Zorro started shaking again. So, I decided that it was time to leave. Right after my caregiver put Zorro back in his crate, the nice technician arrived to give Zorro a shot of pain meds. If things were allowed to continue, he would have been taken alone to the surgery room where the technician who is really good at drawing blood would have taken a stab at it. I'm a disabled senior and my fur baby is a fragile senior. So, we politely departed. Zorro was sweet the entire time and I was very patient and polite. I don't think that one technicians ego should be allowed to cause pain to a scared precious cat or to his disabled senior owner. I apologize that I don't remember everyone's name. I was introduced to five or six different people and the whole situation was very stressful.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience at Surfside Veterinary Hospital. From start to finish, the office was disorganized and unprofessional.
They told me I had booked my appointment for 1:00 PM when I had actually scheduled it for 1:30 PM. After telling me they could “squeeze me in,” I waited an hour only to be told they couldn’t see my dog after all and had to reschedule. I came back 2 days later, arrived on time for my appointment, and still waited 40 minutes before my dog was even seen.
The staff also repeatedly got information wrong, including referring to my dog as a girl…. His name is Bentley and he had a green harness on?! There seemed to be very little communication between employees. On top of that, they initially tried charging me $100 for the exam even though their website advertises a $25 first-time exam.
I paid $25 on the phone I was told was a “DEPOSIT” then had to pay an additional $25 for the exam at the office.
When a staff member came in to explain the estimate, she listed the recommended services and immediately asked if I had any questions without ever showing me the actual cost. I had to ask to physically see the estimate myself, which I found odd. Her attitude was dismissive the entire time, and overall the staff seemed unhappy to be there.
I would never reccomend this vet to anyone, there’s plenty of good ones out there and this is definitely not one of them.
