  If I could post this without a rating it would be a no star for today!!!!!!!! Since moving to Manteca we’ve brought our dog for grooming here and every groomer we’ve encountered has been great. When products are needed, store associates are helpful and knowledgeable most of the time. But today when I went in to the grooming appointment I explained that our dog just been seen by our vet and has recommended she be groomed with specific shampoo due to her skin allergy. According to the groomer, unless it was a prescribed shampoo, they are unable to use the shampoo. I did explain I got the shampoo from them a couple of days ago. It was recommended by your groomer and our vet said to go ahead and continue using it but if it doesn’t work, then he will prescribe a medicated shampoo so the groomer said she will double check with management if that would be OK. when the assistant manager of the store came, he said that it is store policy that they get a written letter from the vet, allowing our dog to have or get groomed by them with her medicated shampoo. so to avoid any conflict, I asked if our dog could just get her nails trimmed and again he said store policy. We cannot groom your dog because she is on medication so I asked him where does that saying the policy because I don’t see anything here that says anything about dogs being treated by a vet, not allowed to be groomed, etc. he then turned around and said well it’s not necessarily a policy. It’s just my preference so I asked you were not allow me to have my dogs nails, trimmed or groomed because you prefer it but now it’s not a policy but earlier you said it is a store policy so I was confused because when I did ask for the policy, he couldn’t provide me with anything but it was just his preference that he denied any service to our dog. I get a precautions and I do understand if you do have policies and procedures to follow, but after seeing an unable to show me any policies of the store, he then turned around and said it was just his preference so I don’t recommend anyone grooming their dog at Petco here in Manteca. I’ve read about the services but because their groomers those girls are so nice and always helpful. We continue to bring our dog here but after today’s visit it, I would rather drive down to Hayward or Union City to continue our service there rather than here.

  Kali came home very clean and smelled really good , thank you, I think we will be happy with our new groomer .
