This Banfield is the best… We loved our vet at Beverly Robinson, but we needed something closer to home. This Petsmart was the first place we ever went with our adopted dog hopper - we adopted him from the SPCA la when he was 10 and he lived 7 years. His grooms, his checkups, his weigh ins. He was celebrated and loved the rest of his life here. When we knew it was time to say goodbye, they helped us. They supported us through his medical care and helped us make him a as comfortable as possible in the last 3 months of his rapid decline. They let us bring in our own blankets and we had our other dog with us. We made a small space so intimate. We laid with him, sang to him, made our own little clay paw prints with him. My husband held his face and looked into his eyes as he took his last breath and I rubbed his ribs, feeling his whole body melt into a state of immediate peace. They were compassionate, respectful, and let us grieve as much as we needed. It was difficult to walk out of the room without him. They didn’t judge us as our hearts literally broke in front of them. How do you write a five star review about one of the worst moments of your life? I guess this is what it looks like. We miss you, Hopper. We think of you every day. Thank you, Banfield for your continued care for our animals.

This place is legit robbery!!!!!!! They charged me $1250 ($100 short of my rent btw) for my dog who experienced temporary paralysis- taking full advantage of the fact I was in scared mommy mode! They told me that she needed an xray for any answers, before the xray blood work is mandatory, and before blood work it’s “policy” that she received x vaccine. I was pressured into making the decision to pay for all of this out of fear for my dogs life! They threw around vague terms saying “some dogs get surgery and never recover” and that she might need a neurologist or an MRI. (More $$!!!!!!) They prescribed her inflammation meds and that’s it. The following day my dog got WORSE and when I called they told me bring her to the ER- which was the only good thing they did for me! I ended up at an AMAZING vet who told me that the xray was absolutely unnecessary- and would not even show results for what they were looking for / could assume it was based on how common this experience is in little dogs. He tried to ease the blow by saying ‘all vets would recommend, but it’s definitely not necessary, especially if you’re tight on money’- when this vet told me it was a NECESSITY! On top of that, I found out my dog was in pain the following day because they only gave me meds for inflammation- not even the nerve pain which is what caused her temporary paralysis!!!!!! This place is a cash grab, and on top of that most of the staff are cold and literally never answer the phone. When I was rushing to them the first time I tried to call them maybe 6x, and each time was put on hold immediately without someone even saying hello! I will literally never go here again. Unclear, overpriced, lack of compassion, don’t give you enough in depth information, and clearly only care about money! Do vets work on commission??? This place will certainly make you feel like it!

Very rude and unprofessional. Made an appt for my dogs vaccines early due to boarding REQUIREMENTS. Put this in the appt notes, to which they called to confirm. Show up after driving and waiting at the front desk for 15 min to be helped for them to tell me they won’t vaccinate my dog since it’s too early.. then told me to come back in a few weeks. When I asked to talk to the vet they said “they’re busy” without even asking them in the back if they could talk to me….

Easily my worst experience with a vet. Absolutely don't go here. My dog was put on anxiety medication just to find that she is on far too high of a dose for her weight (this can literally cause serotonin syndrome!!!!) She was in better condition before being here now seeing my baby in even further pain is frustrating. Clearly, all these people care about is money and making your pet sicker so you come back. The laughable $90 off for being a first time customer and still the total coming to $345. The most expensive i have ever dealt with going to the vet putting her on anxiety medication and a general check up. Absolutely avoid this place at all cost.
