  I needed to get flea medication for my pets, and I didn’t want a topical for my dog since there were cats in the house and it’s dangerous for them. I saw a great first time buyer discount on Chewy for the medication and all I needed was Ambassador to approve the prescription so my pet could stop suffering (she has a flea allergy) and my cats could be safe. Ambassador rejected the prescription, and when I called to check why, I was told that they do not work with Chewy and to instead go through their pharmacy with Covetrus and that they price matched. When I went to buy the medication, it was technically the same price but the discount didn’t come close to matching Chewy’s, even after they gave me a promo code. I was suspicious about how this was handled, came to find out both Ambassador (PetVet) and Covetrus are private equity. It’s not that they couldn’t fill my prescription, it’s that they wouldn’t. I didn’t have to get a medication through their pharmacy, they just made it seem like I needed to. They’re within their legal right to not fill a prescription if prompted by Chewy if they don’t want to, but they are legally required to give me the prescription if I had asked so that I could submit it myself. Saying, “We don’t work with Chewy” was a way to trick me into choosing their pharmacy to get revenue from the purchase, because no vet “works” with Chewy, its a pharmacy, and all a vet does is fill a prescription for it. I should’ve done more research before taking my pet here because corporate greed made me lose out on a good discount and delayed her access to medication. If you care about your pets (and your pockets) go to an independent practice. Vet care prices have jumped 60% in the last decade, and it’s not because pets are getting better treatment. It’s because private equity has poured over $50 billion into buying up local clinics, rolling them into corporate chains, and tying vets’ paychecks to how much they can upsell you.

  Went in for a quick nail trim for my dog and we were in and out in less than an hour. They even tried to save me some money as well. Great service, friendly staff.

  I love the Vet Tech, Hazel. She was amazing. Very friendly, and just great with my overgrown fur baby, John Shadow. And Dr Kumar was very knowledgeable/professional. I'm definitely coming back.
