  Very disappointing and concerning experience with Dr. Rezaei. We brought our 18 year old cat in for a very simple reason: he has chronic kidney disease his previous prescription for renal food had expired and we needed a new prescription. Instead, Dr. Rezaei recommended approximately $1,066 worth of additional testing, stating that our cat’s abdomen felt “tense.” What is especially concerning is that our cat has shown absolutely no signs of abdominal discomfort at home. We spend every day with him, handle him regularly and pet his abdomen without any pain response, stress, hissing or defensive behavior. During this visit, however, Dr. Rezaei repeatedly pressed on his abdomen until our cat became uncomfortable and started hissing. He is 18 years old. He has a known chronic kidney condition. At this stage of his life, our priority is comfort, quality of life, and avoiding unnecessary stress- not putting him through a large battery of tests without a convincing clinical reason. What made the examination even more troubling was that Dr. Rezaei somehow failed to notice an obvious lump on our cat’s cheek, yet focused heavily on palpating his abdomen and recommending over $1,000 in diagnostics. I have a medical background myself and I was honestly shocked by this approach. If I examined and treated my own patients this way- overlooking an obvious visible finding while aggressively pursuing a questionable one and then recommending extensive testing- I would consider that a serious problem in clinical judgment. I understand that veterinarians need to recommend appropriate diagnostics, and I am not against necessary testing. But recommendations should make sense in the context of the patient’s symptoms, history, age and quality of life. In this case, I did not feel that happened. We came in for a renal food prescription for an elderly cat with an established diagnosis. We left with an unnecessarily stressed 18 year old animal and a proposed diagnostic bill of over $1,000. Based on this experience, I have very little confidence in Dr. Rezaei’s clinical judgment and would not trust him with the care of my cat again.

  Be ready for surprise charges and fees when you're getting a dental cleaning for your pet. They may give you an initial quote that appears reasonable and includes possible extraction costs, but be prepared for additional charges that were never clearly discussed beforehand. In my case, I was charged an extra $70 for surgical materials, $65 for post-procedure X-rays, and $70 for 15 additional minutes of anesthesia. It felt like the initial quote was kept lower to encourage me to move forward with the procedure. Once the work had already started and backing out was no longer an option, additional services and fees were added to the bill. The entire process felt more focused on upselling than on providing a clear and transparent estimate upfront. My advice is to ask for a detailed written breakdown of every possible charge before authorizing treatment and to get clarification on which fees are mandatory versus optional. Otherwise, you may end up paying significantly more than the original quote. That said, I'd also like to mention that Dr. Hamid is a very caring veterinarian. He takes the time to explain issues with your pet, answers questions thoroughly, and provides thoughtful solutions. My concerns are with the billing and pricing transparency, not with the quality of care provided by Dr. Hamid.

  I had a very bad experience at Pecto Vet today. They had an offer for first-time customers where the visit is supposed to be free. My dog doesn’t have the rabies vaccine yet, and when I arrived, they told me my appointment might not be accepted because of that. However, they still let me go in and see the doctor, and everything seemed fine at first. After I finished, a nurse came and told me that my dog must get the rabies vaccine at their clinic, saying it’s not allowed to skip it. I told her I preferred to do it at another clinic, but she refused and insisted it had to be done there. Her attitude was extremely rude. She kept saying things like “that’s your problem if you don’t understand what we’re saying.” In the end, they forced me to pay for the vaccine even though I didn’t want to do it there. Overall, their behavior and customer service were very poor, and I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.
