We left our husky mix here for 5 days while we went out of state- it was our first experience using this service and we will never go back here again.
The exterior looks quaint, but inside, you may as well be taking your dogs to a shelter. The environment was incredibly stressful- dogs were continuously barking from their small kennels down the hallway. The family that was picking up their trio of small dogs actually had to chase and corner one of them because he was so scared and stressed from the sounds.
When they retrieved our dog, it took her a solid minute to come down the hallway, despite being able to see me, because she was so confused and scared by the barking. When she arrived, I immediately noticed she had a been bathed, a service we did not ask for. The female owner mentioned “her fur is so soft, did we give her a bath?” and the male owner shot her a look like you wouldn’t believe. It was fishy. Our dog had been hacking up a lung this entire time, something that had previously never happened under any circumstance.
My concerns (which I would caution any good pet owner about):
-Your pet is not getting 1x1 care here. They go in a big yard two times a day and the 1x1 time promised on the website is a greeting through their kennel door while 50 or more dogs are just barking their heads off.
-Every dog I saw in this facility looked miserable and scared. Imagine all of those dogs you see in shelter videos- that’s what this feels like.
-Our dog has not stopped coughing, which means they have a Kennel Cough issue OR they used a choke collar we didn’t provide to restrain our dog in a bath we didn’t request. If it’s the later, we were never informed as to why our dog had gotten so dirty and that she had to be restrained, potentially causing damage to her trachea.
-There are no safety protocols for escape out the front door. When you come to pick up your dog, they just “release it” out of the kennel, so if anyone comes in after you, a scared dog could bolt
Out the door. They even told me “not to open the door again” after entering because they had already released the dogs. I’ve seen other reviews of dogs escaping their care and that is unacceptable.
Overall, for a large dog, it’s $40/day to board them. You get what you pay for- this is a budget kennel service, your dogs are not getting any love or special treatment here- if you care about your dogs, I urge you not to make the same mistake we did.

Ok …….. so I tour this place and fell in love with it , I was sure my fur bbs were going to be very well taken care of here , so I booked boarding for my 3 bbs , I asked for separate kennels , dropped them off and special food for 1 of them since shes allergic to certain foods .
Picked them up 2 days later , brought them home and our dogs were acting very strange, like VERY EXHAUSTED! VERY VERY THIRSTY AND HUNGRY!!!! The bag of food nearly touched. Long story short found out by one of the owners all my bbs stayed it OUTSIDE KENNELS 😡😡😡😡in a 100 • degree weather!!😡😡😡nd probably no beds 😡😡😡😡our bbs are INSIDE DOGS UNLESS. THE GO POTTY!!!!!!!! If they didn’t have any available they should have informed me !!!so I would of gotten another place

Frequently Asked Questions About Homeland Pet Hotel
How far in advance should I book the reservation at Homeland Pet Hotel?
We recommend confirming your pet boarding reservation as soon as your travel dates are finalized. Our facility experiences high demand during peak seasons and holidays. Contact us directly to secure your reservation and discuss our available services.
What vaccinations do you require my pets to have?
State regulations require all animals to maintain current vaccinations, including annual DHPP boosters, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. Proof of current vaccinations must be verified before we can accept your reservation. You may submit vaccine records via email to homelandpethotel@gmail.com prior to arrival or present them during drop-off.
Can my pets share an enclosure during their stay?
Family pets may share the same enclosure when space allows and safety standards can be maintained. We generally house pets of comparable size together, though accommodations can be arranged for mixed-size groups when the smaller animal's safety is ensured. Additional pets sharing an enclosure receive a 25% discount. Contact us for specific details regarding multi-pet boarding arrangements.
Do you exercise all dogs together?
Larger dogs utilize individual exercise yards, which may be shared with their family members. For safety purposes, we do not mix large and small dogs during exercise periods. Smaller dogs of similar size and compatible temperament are exercised together, as most benefit from the socialization. Alternative arrangements can be discussed with owner approval. Reach out to our team for additional information about our exercise protocols.
Can I bring my pet's food, bed, dog blankets, and toys?
You are welcome to bring personal items from home to help your pet feel comfortable during their stay. We recommend bringing your pet's regular food to prevent digestive upset. For clients who prefer not to supply food, we provide Kirkland Chicken and Vegetables dry kibble, which holds a 5-star rating from the Dog Food Advisor. Kennel decks are available for larger animals and elevated cots for smaller dogs. We supply blankets for pets who are not destructive chewers. Items carrying your scent may provide additional comfort for your pet. Contact us to learn what amenities are included with your boarding reservation.
Is your facility climate-controlled?
Our facility maintains central heating and air conditioning to ensure consistent comfort levels year-round. For pets housed in outdoor runs, either by client preference or when indoor capacity is reached, we utilize misters, fans, or additional bedding to maintain comfort. We prioritize moving all animals to indoor accommodations as space becomes available. During high-volume periods, this process may take longer, but transfers occur as promptly as possible when indoor runs are vacated.
How often are dogs let out during the day and for how long?
Our guests receive exercise periods twice daily. Morning sessions allow time for elimination and physical activity. When weather conditions permit, dogs spend at least 30 minutes outdoors while their enclosures are sanitized and their water and bedding are refreshed. A second exercise period occurs around 3:00 PM following the same routine. During extreme heat, outdoor time is reduced to protect animal welfare. Similar adjustments are made during rain or other severe weather conditions. We maximize outdoor access in our spacious yards while prioritizing guest safety and comfort. Contact our facility for additional details about our daily care routines.
What are your hours?
Our office operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Saturday hours are 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Sunday hours are 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Holiday schedules may vary and will be communicated when you book your reservation. Reach out to our team for further information about our services.
Is there webcam access to my dog's kennel?
We do not currently offer webcam monitoring due to space limitations and our commitment to keeping boarding costs affordable. We implement comprehensive safety protocols to ensure your pet receives attentive care throughout their stay. Our objective is to provide sufficient confidence that you can travel without concern for your pet's wellbeing. As a family-operated business staffed by animal lovers, we treat every guest with the same care we provide our own pets. You are welcome to call during business hours to receive updates on your pet. According to Forbes, 85% of dog owners consider their pets family members. We honor that bond by treating your pet as part of our family while in our care.
Can I take a tour?
You are invited to visit our facility during regular business hours. We suggest scheduling your tour between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to avoid the busier feeding and exercise periods. Contact us to arrange a visit and learn more about our boarding services.
How far in advance should I book a reservation at Homeland Pet Hotel?
It is recommended to book your pet boarding reservation as soon as you know your required dates because the facility tends to fill up quickly during certain times of the year. Contact Homeland Pet Hotel to make your reservation.
