We’ve been taking our PitBull to Dr. Budde since he was 4 years old and now he’s 16 so that goes to show the great care Dr. Budde and her staff have given him over the years along with the love and care our family has. If you’ve never gone to Dr. Budde the way she expresses her opinion regarding your pet may come off as very blunt but she tells you how it is and gives you the honesty you and your pet deserve. Her prices aren’t too bad compared to others in the area, she’s very reasonable and does what’s best for your pet. There is no other vet like Dr. Budde we don’t know what we’ll do once she decides to retire(hopefully not soon), she also has great staff that are always so nice and welcoming. If your looking for a honest vet that cares for you and your pet Alta Vista is the place for you.

very *** Interesting I only gave one star .....
because
- "I had to-! -
in order
to possibly
post my comment" -
which is ...... the staff were very interested in their Pokemon card conversation or whatever it was that held priority over the topic of: my cat and , her having a miscarriage in my arms as she had been and all while losing blood for the past half hour prior to my arrival . once I was able to break into the (now numbering 3-?nurses or vet techs?- conversation , I urgently explained what I knew of my cats current condition and ongoing situation . Maybe I seen too many emergency TV shows where they show real life trauma events and everybody is "all concerned" and "seemingly determined" as I felt from what I seen it would be the approximate time ....!???
... but ,
nope not for these people !
in the old saying - when in Rome act like a Roman } would it be the same if I were to say ..... when in a job position where you are paid very well to be that person you are to be while at work - ----- do that job to your best ability .
if the job is a garbage man then bust your butt to get those benefits and $36 bucks p/hr . and wave hi to all the people in the street and greet them with a "g-morning " .
and you would be in great shape all the way around . !
..... however .......if you have a job to do - that doesn't fit you
due to lack
of several simple varying interests but I believe should be - ( mandatory )
qualifications : or skills , abilities , or measurable qualities that one would need to possess like.... empathy #1
#2 care
#3 a very little bit of heart.
...just the tiniest piece would suffice .
which in my unprofessional opinion = could not be witnessed nor even measured , not even with a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer .
I -do -not- believe -
the individuals
employed herein could be the correct fit for the position they are employed for ... maybe , towing or something else but ... no . not a veterinarian.
if I can't say something nice then all I can say is ....
my mother ......
gave me some advice
that I just figured -
EVERYBODY -
had been given by their mother or caretaker,
: she said to me
" if I acquire a job that is something I like to do , then I'll never work a day in my life "!!!
maybe the occupation that you're in now isn't for you because I can tell when people genuinely like to do their job due to factors which at most times are somewhat incommunicable but when I see them I can recognize them Immediately . !
this experience and place is a prime example.....
soo when you're in the wrong occupation ,
the evidence
will be overwhelming .
to oneself
and to any person
who has two eyes
or ears
or in this case .....
all you need in order to access and conclude if truly people are in the wrong line of work ,
is to own a pet ,
that needs
medical assistance ..
I pray that a day such as the one I am currently experiencing never fall upon any person else . have faith and hope that people will care and help care for one another .
I believe in the Bible someplace it may mention a point God may want to teach us all .. when he said
" if _you_
help take care of the people-
I -care about
then- I -
will help take care of the people
_ you _
care about !

Very thorough treatment.
As congenial or “thorough” as Dr.Budde may seem, I can only draw the conclusion that she has poor diagnostic skills.
I brought in a 1-year old poodle for licking his paw raw and she emphatically decided it was a ligament tear after spinning his paw around. She has a very thorough check-in process and I had told her the dog had just relocated a week ago, and has no prior history of licking his paws like that, but she was absolutely adamant that it was a ligament tear and she wanted everything done. She literally rushed into the waiting me and rushed me into the back and urged me to take a look at his paw making a “clicking sound” as she spun it. I heard nothing, but again, I trusted her. Normally, I would have gone to get a second option from another vet but she was so emphatically certain so I signed off on further diagnostics. After all those tests, the conclusion was that he has a common, congenital nonissue on this paw. So, I went in for a scrape on the skin and walked out with a $2300 bill (x-ray, blood, etc etc) and they told me I should essentially be happy nothing came of it.
Uh, not really.
I just really believed the vet knew what she was doing and she seemed empathetic enough to not be trying to fleece her customers. Most vets would likely have first made the decision to observe before ordering for x-rays etc and I have no idea why she did not suggest it and only offered further diagnostics as the only option.
On a side note, as other reviews point out, her front desk people are very unpleasant and vet techs look absolutely worn down

I had my Siamese in there, he was so sick, they took great care of him, the staff there is wonderful, all so caring, and now I take my new kitty there, Gizzmo, they are so good with himself well, I highly recommend them
