Very disappointing experience. I brought my dog to this location because I wanted to try a closer office. I’ve taken him to another location before, and although he can be stubborn and nervous at the vet, the staff there have always been able to work with him.
After this visit, I was contacted by Dr.Kristen and they recommended that I take home sedatives costing around $100 to give my pet before his next visit. I declined because I had never been told this was necessary at the other location. I was then told to not bring him here anymore because I will automatically be charged 600$.
What really bothered me was that they repeatedly referred to my dog as “bad.” I understand that some dogs are scared, anxious, or difficult to handle at the vet, and I completely understand that staff need to protect themselves and keep everyone safe. But there are much more professional and compassionate ways to communicate that to a pet owner. Our pets are family, and many of us consider them our babies. You wouldn’t repeatedly tell a parent that their child is “bad” because they were scared or uncooperative at a doctor’s appointment, and I don’t think pet owners should be spoken to that way about their animals either.
I understand that they offered an alternative of using sedatives for future visits, but what I find confusing is that this has never been recommended or required at the other location, despite my pet having similar behavior there. They have always been able to work with him. Being told that I would now need to pay $600 for the next visit made the experience feel unnecessarily expensive and, honestly, made me question whether the recommendations were truly necessary or if this location was simply a more expensive option.
I will be taking my pet back to the location where we have previously had positive experiences. I hope this location can work on how they communicate with pet owners and use more respectful language when describing animals and their behavior.

Came here today for a follow up to a cat I’m fostering cause he had a fever. Almost 600 dollars in bloodwork and urine analysis for them to tell me they couldn’t really tell what was wrong with him. And that I would need to do more testing. The last appointment I had come in I had requested to do FeLV and FIV
since he is a stray they said he was to small and needed to wait for his recovery. This time around I assumed that bloodwork included those test turns it out it isn’t and it’s a whole other cost. The communication wasn’t there. And for them to try and sell me on 1000 dollars more of testing is crazy work they also didn’t send me home with anything no medicine no antibiotics nothing. I requested a receipt of the breakdown of cost and they said they would email it to me NOTHING we called twice. I also have the banfield app and on the the app the visit today is no where to be found. It all seems very shady and their only concern is the money it’s very sad. Went home took him to a family friend that does fostering and is also an off duty vet helping the foster community turns out he hurt his leg and had a fever from the pain. 600 dollars and you couldn’t figure out he had a hurt leg!!! Ridiculous stay as far away from here as possible.

This is the worst pet hospital in history, I don’t know about the other locations, but I really hate that I took my baby here to THIS location to begin with. The first time here they act like I couldn’t even speak with the doctor about the check up they did. I was reading things on the paperwork that they never ever said anything about to us after the check up. I would think the doctor or the staff would want to explain to you the outcome of the wellness check up. The customer service is horrible all the way around! Ive literally been sitting on hold forever, someone picked up the phone, didn’t say anything, and just put it back on hold smh. I would NEVER come here again, and I’m going to make sure I tell EVERYONE who actually cares about their pets NOT to come here even if it was the last resort. Every single person at this location should be ashamed of yourselves! Yall gonna run into the wrong one!
Frequently Asked Questions About Banfield Pet Hospital
Does Banfield provide emergency care services?
No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
Can I get veterinary care online?
To help pets and their people stay healthy, Banfield clients who have Optimum Wellness Plans® can get remote general pet care advice and triage support directly from a veterinarian 24/7 through Vet Chat™ on the Banfield app.
What preventive pet health care services does Banfield offer?
We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including:
• Vaccinations

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
