Greedy scammers, took over $7000 from me for my cat, then the same day they release my cat, he begins to have the same symptoms, they say he probably needs the same operation again, which doesn’t make any sense, also they wouldn’t even look at my cat until I paid like $300 fee or something, they try to scare me by saying my cat probably won’t survive 24 hours without this $7000 operation again, I take him to Fresno Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center, I don’t know what they did but they gave him some medicine, they did X-ray’s, gave me copies of the X-ray’s, explained to me the issue and how to avoid it in the future, all for I believe $150-200, it’s been like 5 years now and he hasn’t had issues since, so avoid this vet at all costs and go to Fresno Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center, they actually care about animals not just money.

My dog was hit by a car in the middle of the night, and I brought him here because Animal Control recommended this facility to me as an emergency option.Because it was an emergency, I was told I needed to pay $1,500 upfront to begin treatment. I agreed and paid it. My dog was under their care for approximately two hours. During that time, they performed lab work and X-rays, placed him on an IV, and then told me that the $1,500 had been used.Based on their X-rays, they told me that my dog had apparently had a broken hip for months. I also informed them that my dog has a history of seizures. Instead of focusing on the injury that had just occurred from being hit by a car, I felt that they became much more focused on his seizure history.Their recommendation was to keep my dog hospitalized for approximately 24 hours while giving him seizure medication. The estimated cost was an additional $5,000. What was extremely frustrating was that this plan still did not address his broken hip. It was primarily for monitoring and treating seizures, even though my dog was not having a seizure during our visit. They even questioned whether my dog had actually been hit by a car, which I found extremely upsetting given the circumstances. When I declined their recommendation and asked if they could at least provide medication to help my dog, they refused. I was told that because I did not agree to their recommended treatment plan, they would not provide me with the medication they had suggested and instead told me to follow up with my primary veterinarian. So, I paid $1,500 for approximately two hours of care, lab work, X-rays, and an IV, and I left feeling like my dog’s immediate injury and comfort were not their priority.I immediately took my dog to my primary veterinarian once they opened, who was able to provide him with appropriate care at a much more reasonable cost.I understand that emergency veterinary care can be expensive, but I believe there is a huge difference between providing necessary emergency care and making a distressed pet owner feel pressured into thousands of dollars of additional treatment that does not address the most obvious injury. In my experience, this facility took advantage of a stressful emergency situation and left me feeling that the focus was more on the cost of treatment than on making my dog comfortable and addressing his injuries.I would not recommend this facility to anyone looking for compassionate and reasonably priced emergency care for their pet.

I had a very bad experience at this clinic when it was time to put my 14 year-old dog down and a lady comes in and tells me to keep it down because there’s people in the lobby when I left that lobby. There’s one person not only she said she was going to call the cops on me because I was grieving for my 14 year-old dog, but I win the next day to complain and I had a very very helpful person. Very kind lady manager curly hair not only that she also let me say goodbye to my dog because I could not say goodbye to him the day he left, but she gave me time to grief and I want to thank you for that

I had a 4 week old foster kitten that had sudden health issues, refusing to eat and losing weight extremely fast. I brought this kitten in 3 times over 1 1/2 week and it was a different vet each time. Where I got upset was when veterinarians were giving us different directions and medication without knowing he was previously treated there. I told the vet on the 3rd visit “We were just here 4 days ago.” She responded with “Oh really!?” She had no idea we had prior visits. If it was more organized and everyone was on the same page I feel that my foster kitten would have made it.
