What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).

How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What kind of appointment do I have?

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time • Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup. • Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.

Deworming

Banfield Pet Hospital® offers Deworming. Deworming is the administration of medication to eliminate internal parasites (such as roundworms, tapeworms, and hookworms) from an animal's body.

Gastrointestinal illness diagnosis and treatment

Gastrointestinal illness treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® starts with identifying the underlying cause – which can range from dietary issues to infections – and then providing appropriate therapy such as diet changes, fluid therapy, or medication.

General dentistry

All Banfield Pet Hospital® locations offer basic dental care for pets. This may include professional cleanings, dental examinations, or oral surgeries to maintain oral health and prevent diseases.

General surgery

Surgery is a broad category in veterinary medicine. At Banfield Pet Hospital ®, surgeries may include routine spaying and neutering to common operations, performed to address health issues or injuries in animals.

Microchipping

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, we provide microchipping for pets. This process involves inserting a chip under the pet's skin, with a unique ID that can help reunite lost pets with their owners.

Parasite control

Parasite treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® may involve administering medication to eradicate and prevent parasites, such as fleas, ticks, and worms, that infest or infect animals.

Spaying and neutering

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, spaying (for females) and neutering (for males) are surgical procedures performed under anesthesia. These procedures can help prevent unwanted breeding and may reduce the risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues in pets.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are available at Banfield Pet Hospital®. Administering vaccines is a preventative health care measure that can help protect pets against various diseases, such as rabies, distemper, and parvovirus.

X-rays

One of my dogs had concerning blood test results. Dr. Paul Bienz was extremely thorough and ran the tests again to be sure it was accurate. He called me to clearly explain the concern, urgency, next steps, and sympathy for the situation. When I came back to pick up my other dog who had a dental cleaning, Dr. Paul Bienz kindly came back out to check on me and my other dogs status at a hospital she was transferred to. The extra detail, care and kindness showed that they truly care and support families that come into Banfield. The front staff and techs are also extremely nice and thoughtful. They explain what is needed and why. They called to check on both dogs the day after which also meant a lot to me. Thank you!

I found Banfield on a whim to help my dog Gino with his seizures. We had the pleasure of being assisted by DR.Beinz and DR. Azad . From day one my Gino gravitated to dr. Beinz and he was so caring and honest in every step , never made me feel as though I was an inconvenience for coming as often to make sure he was okay or to adjust the treatment plan. Yesterday we had to put my loving bestfriend and son down to rest and i truly thank each and everyone of the staff members, nurses and Doctors for there genuine love and kindness he couldn’t have been in better hands . There are moments like this that make life hard but i would like the staff at Banfield to know please keep providing the support and love you do because it really makes a difference and I can tell they all are in this profession because they care for the animals and owners . It’s not always easy but keep going. In loving memory Gino Russell.

I’ve had animals my whole life so I have been to endless vets, general care as well as specialty and emergency, private practice as well as corporate. I was so pleasantly surprised and comforted at how thorough, compassionate yet professional, and patient the doctors and staff are here!!! They did not rush me whatsoever even though I took up a lot of their time with endless questions and they explained everything patiently and thoroughly. Every staff member I met was kind and welcoming, and they make the comfort of our animals a clear priority. I have NEVER seen all my dogs lay down and chill so comfortably at the vet the way they did here, and one is notoriously anxious that barely trembled this time!! Dr. Bienz and Amanda created such a warm and comfortable energy in the room that put all of us at ease which is exactly what I was hoping to find in a new vet. Just hoping this quality of care is consistent!
