  I'm not someone who leaves many reviews, but I feel like they deserve one so others avoid taking their fur babies here. I recently brought my senior pup to their office for an eye infection. When we arrived, they were helping another person, I use the term "helping" lightly. From talking to this individual, they had brought their pup in for an exam but the prescription writing vet was not available that day so they were called later to come back and pick up a handwritten prescription. When they arrived (after driving over 30 miles), they were told that there was actually no written prescription left for them, and that again, the prescribing vet was not there. Fast forward to after our exam, they called in prescriptions to our pharmacy for her eye infection but also ear drops for a slight ear infection. When arriving to pick up the meds at the pharmacy, they only had the eye drops in stock. As by this time, the vets office was closed, I had to call the next morning to request a paper prescription for the ear drops so I could order them online. After explaining the situation, I was told that they would not write a paper prescription or call another in to another pharmacy location because the vet on site that day wanted to see her before prescribing and that I would have to pay for another visit. She had just been seen the day before and was prescribed the medication, it was unfair to have pay for another visit just to be seen by the vet that happened to be on site that day. So I took my business elsewhere. Now, I should have known already not to go back to Banfield. 5 years ago, I regularly took another pup to this location because he suffered from grand mal seizures often. Every 90 days he had to have a handwritten prescription for his medication that reduced the number of seizures he would have. And every time, we would have an issue with getting the handwritten prescription from them. Eventually he lost the use of his hind legs and had a bed sore. We took him to them and they advised on how to clean and prescribed antibiotics. After starting the antibiotics and following their cleaning suggestions, the bed sore turned into an abscess with a clear view of the hip bone through it. Because of this we took him to an emergency vet instead, who gave us a treatment that actually seemed to be working and it appeared that the wound was now healing. But by this time, the infection from the abscess had spread through his already weak immune system and it was too late and he passed shortly after. I tried giving them a second chance as it has been years and the staff is different but I can guarantee that I am never going back to Banfield and I suggest you don't either.

  Very knowledgeable. I appreciate that the vet didn’t push expensive tests I couldn’t afford, but did tell me my best options.

  I am a pet owner of 2 one year old cats, Banfield has been Tiger 's and Lily's vet since they were 3 months old. Their staff and vet are wonderful and nice to my kitties. I like the chat feature, when i have questions. Also, their location is close to me.
