A representative mentioned that the clinic would be there the following day and suggested that I bring him in for help, so I scheduled an appointment for the next day\. When I took my dog to the appointment, I explained his symptoms and asked the veterinarian for guidance\. The first response I received was, “Have you taken him to his regular vet?” I was honestly frustrated by the response because I was specifically told that the clinic would be able to help with my dog’s symptoms\. It was disappointing to find out that the Petco clinic is primarily limited to services such as vaccinations and flea medication and does not provide treatment or evaluation for illnesses like vomiting\. I feel that this should have been made clear when the appointment was recommended, especially since I was seeking medical assistance for a sick dog and not simply routine vaccinations or preventative care\. A clearer explanation of the clinic’s services would have saved me the time, appointment, and frustration of bringing my dog in expecting him to be evaluated\.
