My lucky day! Everything I needed was on sale. And my dog found things that I didn’t even know we needed (can’t take my fur kids shopping with me, or they beg for toys).

Staff is very friendly and they show that they actually care about the animals they have and that they take the time to know them. Very informative

This was our first time in this Petco, and the experience was so poor that we will not be coming back. We brought two rescue dogs to the vaccine clinic, with appointments at 5:25 and 5:30. These dogs are unsocialized and getting them safely into the car was an ordeal in itself. We arrived at 5:29, yet the clinic refused to see one of the dogs because we were apparently considered late by being five minutes after, despite having booked both of the appointments at the end of day specifically to be polite as our dogs are untrained and unvaccinated rescue dogs. There had been absolutely no notification that arriving even a few minutes after the appointment time would mean forfeiting the appointment, and we reviewed the website and emails afterwards — the policy of not seeing dogs at the end of the day if they are 5 minutes late is not posted, and it’s ridiculous when you have both dogs getting the same shots. It’s about as easy of an appointment as it comes. We were there for both appointments, nobody else was waiting, and both dogs needed the exact same vaccine. It would have been trivial to vaccinate them together. The young man who delivered the news never even said hello or anything, but just looked at his iPad before telling us about their unwritten, made up policy. We both felt he was needlessly unpleasant and harsh almost like he enjoyed smearing our face in it in a little corporate power trip kind of way. Cold. Corporate. Uncaring. What made the experience even worse was the customer service at the front desk. The two employees were so absorbed in their own conversation and interaction with each other that we actually had to politely interrupt them just to ask where the vaccine clinic was. That is a remarkably poor first impression for someone walking into the store for the first time. We had gone through the considerable trouble of getting these dogs there, including cleaning up after one of them vomited in the car, because we were trying to handle the situation responsibly and respectfully. Had we known that a four-minute difference would result in one dog being turned away, we would have approached the situation very differently. We could have just dragged them in covered in vomit, but unlike the employees at Petco, we possess basic manners. Policies are fine. But if a policy is strict enough that a customer can lose an appointment over four or five minutes, that needs to be clearly communicated when the appointment is made. That is more of a standard than medical offices keep, and people jabbing dogs with off the shelf vaccines could at least try to make the experience not suck on every other level. Enforcing an undisclosed policy after the customer has gone through all this trouble is not reasonable customer service, and the way it was communicated was beyond off putting. I almost never leave one star reviews, but this experience was sufficiently poor that I feel compelled to. The combination of inflexible treatment, poor communication, and an exceptionally disengaged front desk made this an awful first impression. We will not be returning to this store. Petco, if you’re reading this, train your staff and post your policies. That was pathetic and we will literally be driving *anywhere* else to avoid going here again.
