Banfield Pet Hospital® offers Deworming. Deworming is the administration of medication to eliminate internal parasites (such as roundworms, tapeworms, and hookworms) from an animal's body.

Gastrointestinal illness diagnosis and treatment

Gastrointestinal illness treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® starts with identifying the underlying cause – which can range from dietary issues to infections – and then providing appropriate therapy such as diet changes, fluid therapy, or medication.

General dentistry

All Banfield Pet Hospital® locations offer basic dental care for pets. This may include professional cleanings, dental examinations, or oral surgeries to maintain oral health and prevent diseases.

General surgery

Surgery is a broad category in veterinary medicine. At Banfield Pet Hospital ®, surgeries may include routine spaying and neutering to common operations, performed to address health issues or injuries in animals.

Microchipping

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, we provide microchipping for pets. This process involves inserting a chip under the pet's skin, with a unique ID that can help reunite lost pets with their owners.

Parasite control

Parasite treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® may involve administering medication to eradicate and prevent parasites, such as fleas, ticks, and worms, that infest or infect animals.

Spaying and neutering

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, spaying (for females) and neutering (for males) are surgical procedures performed under anesthesia. These procedures can help prevent unwanted breeding and may reduce the risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues in pets.

As a college student trying to prepare my kitty for a long flight, I used the coupon for her first visit. I dropped her off and not 3 minutes later got a call that she was “too angry” and I had to come back and pick her up. My cat is young and she was scared/confused/angry (duh it’s the vet) and they couldn’t handle it. They led me into the employees only section to remove her, not even unclipped from her carrier yet. Thankfully I was able to get the meds! While I am grateful for the medication, looking back I feel it was a mistake to accept them considering they hadn’t even touched her. Giving medication to a patient without knowing anything besides sex and breed is not enough to warrant a confident prescription and put my cat at risk for a bad reaction, whether mid flight or in transport. Because I wanted my young cat to get a checkup, I called banfield in Davis to see if I could get the coupon taken off of my account so I could take her back (to a different location) for an actual checkup and treatment. Mind you, they had NEVER EVEN TOUCHED HER during the appointment. They said no because the “doctor had already established a relationship with the cat”…. She walked her down the hall and put her in a cage! Apparently, looking at the cat in a carrier for 5 seconds is enough to warrant itself as “developing a relationship” and I am unable to use the coupon FOR AN ACTUAL CHECKUP and will need to pay out of pocket. If I did pay out of pocket the first time I imagine I wouldn’t get a refund! This is disappointing considering this is a great option for college kids who adopt cats from shelters or the street and need an affordable option.

WORST clinic I have ever been to. A bunch of scammers, you can tell they’re money hungry. Went friday for a checkup on my cat because I thought she had an upper respiratory infection, and I was advised to take the herpes test. The workers were clearly inexperienced, attempting to take her blood and putting the needle in both her legs, only to not take any blood and advise for me to come the next day, for a fee of 20$ to sedate her to make THEIR lives easier because they can’t do their job right. On that day, I showed their coupon, the free first office visit, the worker acknowledged it and said she’d apply it, only to not apply it at checkout. She claimed I never “showed her” but I did, once again trying to steal money from me. When I came the next day, for her herpes test, they wanted to charge me another 91$ for another office visit, even though I was only there because THEY couldn’t finish their job. It was supposed to all be done friday, but they purposely extended the visit to two days to leech and scam me. I was not even supposed to pay that 91$ the first visit, and then without offering me a refund after realizing their faults, they wanted to charge me another fee. Come here if you want to be taken advantage of, not told the whole truth, or get your money essentially stolen.

I chose this place just because it was close to my house and I couldn't have been luckier. I've interfaced with probably close to 20 vets in my lifetime and Dr. Christenson is the best I've ever had. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, she is also compassionate and caring. She remembered who I was every time I came in and truly seemed to want what was best for my cats. When I made an informed decision abouty cats' care, she never tried to change my mind. One of my cats just also really liked her and acted comfortable around her, which made the whole vet process much less traumatic. If we weren't moving and we could keep coming here forever and seeing Dr. Christenson, we would. I would recommend the Optimum Wellness Plan as well if you can fit it into your budget. It saved me money over time and gave me great piece of mind. You get access to this online chat staffed by vet techs, which I really like. This Banfield was also great at accommodating us when we needed immediate care, and the one time they couldn't help us with the emergency at hand, they sent us to Mayfair in Dixon and made the transition as smooth as possible. It was also nice to know that if something happened while we were visiting my parents, we could go to the Banfield over there and it would be relatively easy.
