- KPKimberly PhamJun 26, 20261.0I want everyone to read this and understand that it is NOT normal to drop off your pet and have Banfield keep them for HOURS before giving them back to you. This is something I never liked about the place. It stresses your dog out to unnecessary levels bc they are forced to handle too many dogs in one day, then prompt you to give your dog relaxation meds for the next dropoff bc they couldn’t perform certain checkups. (Gee I wonder why they’re stressed out. Maybe bc they’ve been trapped in a kennel for 6 hours???) Oh and, after I dropped off my senior dog one morning, she was given back to me SOAKED in her own urine for who knows how long. It was as if she took a bath in it with absolutely no acknowledgment or clean-up from any nurses besides “she’s a little damp”. That was the final straw.

- JMJennifer MullerApr 24, 20261.0Women at the front desk set me up to sign up for pet insurance with no detailed information about the plan. Just said it’s a monthly payment plan. That’s all I was told and that it would save me money. When you buy anything you should be given the detailed information about what you are signing up for. I was under the impression that this was a monthly with no contracts. After signing when I got home, I realized I signed up for a yearly plan. They need to be very honest and upfront about what this plan is with no way out cannot cancel.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
What types of preventive pet health care services does Banfield Pet Hospital offer?
Banfield offers vaccinations, dental care, parasite control, nutritional counseling, behavioral counseling, and comprehensive examinations to keep your pet healthy at all life stages.
