  My first visit was yesterday. Was looking to lower my vet costs and still get great care for my "hunka hunka burning love ", Charlie. Was greeted by a warm, sweet receptionist and escorted to a room. Two people came in right away to get information about Charlie since this was our first visit. Both were friendly and immediately started welcoming Charlie. Got done to his level and gently got to know him. He LOVED it!! Then as the vet tech student continued to get to know him, she also listened to his lungs and started checking him out. The other person with us started getting his health info. We went over his vaccines, which was our primary reason for the visit. Her name was Brooke. She was also the manager. Very kind, patient and professional. And so very personable. Charlie needed to be updated on alot of vaccines, plus heartworm test and heartworm meds. The vet, Dr. Watson came in. Same kind of interaction with Charlie and myself. Good basic exam and also talked to me at length about all his "issues". He is 10 yrs and 6 mos. Healthy, just getting alittle older now. After she left, Brooke sat with me on the bench and we went over his care plan. She showed me the list of what he needed and the costs. Then we looked at what could wait. Most importantly she talked about the vaccine clinic on Sundays. Brooke was terrific!!! Charlie got the vaccines he needed and I will be taking him to the clinic on Sunday for the rest and for his heartworm test. What a wonderful visit. The entire staff, Dr. Watson, especially Brooke.......well I can't make enough positive comments. And for those who are financially challenged, this is a place to go. Clean, well kept and pleasant clinic also. Parking was easy. A plus for us seniors!!! And yes, we will be checking out the vaccine clinic on Sundays for the rest of what he needs. They definitely deserve a 5 star review. And a special shout out to Brooke!! Thank you all so much for a thorough, comprehensive and pleasant visit. We will definitely stay with you. Charlie was a happy camper when we left despite having to get his "shots"!!.

  Had our first visit at Vetco. The staff was very friendly and the Doctor was friendly and explained everything in detail.

  I can't thank you all enough for treating Bodhi today. It was a wonderful and relieving experience from the time I opened you up online through walking out your door. Bodhi needed to be seen today and after our regular vet told us their wait for an appointment was a week or their waiting list was 5 deep, I had to find somewhere else to go. The only place I could find that would get Bo in today as a new patient was the emergency vet. That was until I opened your web site. I was shocked and relieved to find out that not only would you accept us as a new patient and treat the issue he had, but there were 3 appointment times available. The reception we received upon arriving at your office was friendly and helpful. We were helped immediately. After getting signed in and Bo's weight taken (need to cut back on the treats) we were taken directly to a room where Brooke, whom we had the most interaction with, showed up 2-3 mins later. She was great with Bo and gave him his new patient exam, WHICH WAS FREE BTW!!! She inspected his issue, explained what procedures she expected to be done and came up with a rough estimate of the cost which I was pleasantly surprised with. Dr Watkins came in immediately after, examined Bo, and explained to me in detail all that they would be doing and procedures that would be taken after finding out what was causing his issue. She made sure I was ok with everything and answered all my questions before taking Bo. Brooke came back with Bo about 15min later and explained everything they discovered and the procedures they performed. I was extremely relieved to find out that his issue more of a hot spot rather than an infection or worse. She then pulled up the estimate she originally gave me and started subtracting procedures and their amounts as I sat in shock watching. She explained that they took a sample but didn't have to scope it and since they didn't do have to do every part of that particular procedure, they weren't going to charge me for it at all. They didn't have to do one of the other procedures in the estimate and she subtracted that one. I was so happy and relieved to know that they not only were providing the best treatment for Bo but they also were very cost conscious about everything. One example was Brooke said that they typically would treat this issue with a topical medication but since Bo was such a big dog that it would be way more cost effective to treat it in pill form. That's just one example. I'm sorry for the length of this review but I'll wrap it up by saying that I woke up this morning dreading to try and find a place to get Bo in the same day and the amount it was going to cost. The friendly and helpful people at Vetco put all my worries and stress at ease with their services and I can't thank them all enough. Jeremy and Bodhi

  Wonderful and compassionate care for our dog. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Brooke was informative, caring and went above and beyond.

  I have been very happy with the Chico, CA Vetco since it opened a few years ago. I originally started going there because my long time vet closed her private practice to open the Vetco so I followed her. She has since left and I have seen a few different vets there and they have all been great. The vet techs and office staff are always friendly and show a lot of affection towards my dogs. Purchasing the Petco Premier package has been working out well for me with a $15 credit per month to spend on vet services, online, or in store. The only suggestion I have is to offer weekend services but the emergency vet is open now 24 hours a day so there is another option when Vetco is closed.
