  We took our dog in for an ear infection. We were told the cost of the visit plus ear swipe to determine if there was an infection. After taking our dog to another room, the doctor returned to say that the left ear was not infected, we told him before that it was the right ear not the left. He replied will I get mixed up from the let to the right and the swipe was done on both ears and will let us know the results. Then entered his assistant with the bill which went from $170 to $480. We were shocked. We said that we could administer the drops in the ear and she returned with a bill of $270. The most unprofessional part was after the bill was given to us with our dog, we were asked to pay at the front desk which we did. We then asked what the results of the ear swipe was. The young man at the front desk looked it up and gave us the results. We asked for a copy which he gave us. The doctor never returned to tell us the results which was totally unprofessional. We will not return to this clinic. Totally unprofessional service.

  A word to the wise- they used to have the most amazing vet- one worth me overextending to pay for....however, they were dumb enough to let her leave. Why pay for an optimum wellness plan unless you have the best vet possible. Dr. Clark is now at Helen Woodward now and I will follow her care for my dog ANYWHERE. My dog LOVES going to see her. No fear, no hesitation - just amazing care.

  I’m super happy switching our dogs vet over to Banfield Pet Hospital in Carlsbad. I have the problem child dog that wants to nip at the vet. They are so wonderful and caring. They always let me hold him and comfort him during any checkup or procedure. Even though he still hates going, we always end up leaving happy & having a good experience. In our last visit we had a dental cleaning and they found bad teeth and did extractions. I felt like they were caring and honest, and everything was explained clearly before, during, and after his procedure. He’s doing great so far the day after and I know he’s going to be such a happy boy with his new clean teeth! I highly recommend this sweet team of people in caring for any pet.

  I went in to get my cat a check up for some concerns I had about her dental health. guy at the front was nice and welcoming and led me to the room where I waited a few moments and then the vet tech came in. she asked me a few questions about what was going on and I gave her a brief explanation. she left the room and about 3 mins later comes back in and throws multiple unrelated tests to my concern and a huge dollar amount before I had even seen the actual VET. I told the tech I didn't want to see any numbers or tests until seeing the vet and talking to her one on one about what's going on with my cat. then the vet comes in, nice lady, but same thing. its almost as they were not truly listening to what I was expressing. was given the same tests and numbers, then I mentioned how does any of that relate to my concerns for her teeth. and all I got was oh! here's your NEW dollar amount after adding the dental exams/treatments. it truly does feel and seem like they care more about the money they can get from you rather than actually loving their job and caring for my pet. anyways, was told they couldn't do or recommended anything if I didn't run the tests, they then told me about their "cost savings" wellness plans which also is a HUGE scam considering it doesn't cover any treatments only tests/vaccines. it doesn't even cover the $100 visit! thank God I had a coupon to avoid that fee. imagine paying $100 bucks just get to get told there is nothing they can do or see until I pay the $1000+ amount. anyways, will be needing to get a second opinion. as I do not trust this place at all! definition of corporate greed....

  Very caring & helpful doctors & staff I drive a lot further to see than the Banfield nearest to my house!
