- GFGutierrez FamilyApr 27, 20251.0IF WE COULD GIVE 0 STARS WE WOULD. Our dog was taken in for a drop off in the morning (around 10am) because they had an opening. They found that he had an ear infection and some abdomen pain. My family decided to go ahead with the ear infection treatment (ear swab/ear cleaning) so that we could discuss regarding where to take our dog due to the abdomen pain because we have been weary of Banfield care. I received a call about the recommendations (ear treatment/x-ray/medication for ear treatment) around 11:40-12pm. I called back right away and gave the approval of ear treatment to be completed. We did not hear back from them so I called at 2pm following up and Gianna answered (nice at first) but does not know what is going on and said that "they are waiting on approval for ear swab" something like this to where I corrected her and told her i have on my recent calls when I spoke to Dr. Flores regarding approving ear treatment for my dog. She then sounded confused and sees that there is a "note on our dog's file saying this." My family became worried because how long does ear swab/ear cleaning take? But I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Gianna gives a possible pick up time for 3:30-4:30pm... We waited and still no call. My family and I went straight to the hospital and there we received more rude and unprofessional behaviors by Gianna and Dr. Flores. When asking Dr. Flores how long does it take to do the ear treatment my dog had, she said "Well we had 3 surgeries today." and never gave an answer. Do not go to this place if you do not have a banfield wellness plan. Look into pet insurance or go to a better banfield pet hospital instead because we have given this place multiple chances to just be disappointed. Banfield hosptial - don't take pets in for an appointment if you have "3 surgeries" or are busy enough already. It will save yours, pets, and their family's time.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
