This program is not worth it in my opinion. First of all it only cover doctors visit and flea meds. I kept trying to get my dogs teeth cleaned as is was part of my insurance and was told it would be month and someone would contact me to set it up. That never happened for a year. Then I went in and they told me they no longer do cleaning I would need to take my dog to another Banfield approximately 50 miles away. This weekend I had to re-home my 2 dogs. I tried to cancel my insurance and was told I would need to pay over $800 each one. I never expected to get rid of my dogs and it was very hard for me and for Banfield to tell me I would have to pay to cancel was even worse after being with them atleast 5 years. They claim that the contract is for a year therefore I would have to pay for the remaining part of the year even though I don’t have the dogs anymore. This was never explained to me in the beginning and is a scam in my opinion. I would recommend you look for another pet hospital who has more availability for services and do not make it difficult to cancel you account even though you no longer have the pets. It’s hard enough to get rid of your vet and the. Banfield tell you that you are stuck having to pay the insurance for the rest of a year. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM

I had a wonderful experience with the Banfield team in Albany and I’m very grateful for the care and attention they gave my girl, Luna. We brought Luna in because she had a foxtail stuck in her paw. The veterinarian examined her and determined that she would need a minor surgical procedure to have it removed. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to perform the procedure at the Albany location, but instead of simply telling us to go somewhere else, the team went above and beyond to help us. They contacted other Banfield locations themselves and found a nearby location in Concord that was able to perform the procedure. They made the process so much easier for us during a stressful situation. Everyone we interacted with was kind, attentive, professional, and genuinely concerned about Luna’s well-being. I really appreciate the extra effort they made to make sure she could get the treatment she needed. Thank you so much to the entire Albany team for taking care of Luna and helping us find the next step in her treatment. I truly appreciate everything you did for us and highly recommend this location!

This is the closest location to me, and unfortunately I've had many bad experiences. I've showed up early for drop off appointments only to be met with locked doors and have to wait outside with a line of people waiting to do the same sometimes for 20-30 minutes until someone shows up to unlock the door. They never apologize for being late or for making people wait. Additionally, I was on the waiting list for a dental cleaning that I joined back in February. Was told I'd get a call by April. I called in June when I realized I never heard back and was informed that their dental surgeon left the practice and that they were no longer accommodating dental cleanings or surgeries at that location. Everyone on the waiting list should have been notified when that happened so they could make other accommodations at their Marina location. Because of this extreme delay, the state of my dog's teeth worsened and he ended up having to have an extreme amount of teeth pulled costing me over $3000 at a different location, despite dental cleanings being part of the plan I pay monthly for. Every other location is over an hour away from me, which is extremely inconvenient but I managed. I then tried to do separate appointments for allergy shots, follow up vaccination appointments, etc. and any time I call *during operating hours* I get their voicemail box saying the location is closed. How can a place charge people $100 or more per month for a subscription veterinary service and then never be available?

The Albany location is AMAZING! It was so easy to book an appointment and the staff there is great. Sydney was the tech that helped check in my dog for his wellness visit and she just went above and beyond in my eyes. I am grateful to her for her kindness and patience. The whole process was very easy, and I felt at ease leaving my senior dog in their hands. We used to take our dog to the Banfield in Fremont and I'm just happy we moved to the area so my dog can continue care at Banfield in Albany.
