I booked a bath with an upgrade for my dog. The groomer called to ask about cutting down his face, and I clarified that I had only booked a bath with an upgrade. The groomer continued, mentioning he had matting and asking if they could shave those spots. I agreed (though I was confused since he wasn’t there for a haircut) and was told he’d be ready in 20 minutes.
When I arrived, I paid for the service and waited. The groomer brought out a dog...that was not mine. Because it was an excited doodle, I was confused at first, but this dog was light-colored, very furry, and had a short tail. My dog has a short cut, reddish-brown fur, and a long tail. Once the initial energy settled, I told the groomer, "This is not my dog." The groomer insisted it was, so I looked closer and interacted with the dog for another moment before repeating, "No, this is not my dog."
The groomer took the stranger dog back while I waited in the lobby, terrified that my dog had been given away to someone else. Eventually, the groomer brought out my actual dog and mentioned they hadn't completed one of the services due to the mix-up, asking if I could wait another five minutes. I said absolutely not; I wanted my dog out of there immediately and would not be returning.
The manager stepped in, apologized, and issued a refund. The groomer, however, never apologized or said a word before walking into the back. Giving someone the wrong dog is a massive safety issue, and I will not be going back.
