  Extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience. I had a dog grooming appointment scheduled for 10:00 AM, booked directly through the Petco app. At around 9:55 AM, when I was already arriving at the store, I received a phone call telling me that my appointment had to be canceled because a “VIP dog” was coming in. Even if I said that I’m almost there, a cancel is a cancel with a lot of “unfortunate”. I honestly find this ridiculous. I am also a paying Petco membership customer. Am I supposed to expect that my confirmed appointment can be canceled at any time because a VIP customer suddenly needs the time slot? What makes this even more frustrating is that the employee initially suggested that perhaps whoever made my appointment had entered it manually by mistake. But I booked the appointment myself through the Petco app. If certain time slots need to be reserved for VIP customers or if there are staffing/booking restrictions, why are those slots available for customers to book online in the first place? There were so many opportunities to prevent this situation. You could have: * blocked the time slot in the booking system, * reviewed the next day’s appointments ahead of time, * identified the staffing or scheduling conflict earlier, or * at the very least, contacted me well before 9:55 AM, 5 minutes before the appointment. If I had been notified even 30 minutes earlier, I might have been able to make other arrangements without completely disrupting my day. I am a working professional with a busy schedule. I specifically planned around this 10:00 AM appointment, and there was another Petco location where I could potentially have taken my dog at that time. But after this appointment was canceled at the last minute, I contacted that location and they were already fully booked as well. So now this one cancellation has completely disrupted my plans, and the next weekend when I may actually have time to get my dog groomed could be two or three weeks away. I understand that unexpected situations happen. But this did not feel like an unavoidable emergency—it felt like a failure of scheduling and communication, and the customer ended up paying the price for it. A confirmed appointment should mean something, especially when the customer booked it through Petco’s own system and showed up on time. If Petco has a VIP system that can override regular customers’ confirmed appointments, customers should be told that clearly and the booking system should reflect it. Otherwise, please don’t let customers book appointments that you already know may be canceled. I expected much better from a company I pay for a membership with.

  My dog has anxiety and the groomer was able to work with her and I was very pleased with the results. Sadie came out looking beautiful.

  Megan was the most amazing groomer I have ever had for a pet. Very knowledgeable. Made Nubi, our 7-year-old chiweenie, feel at ease. We adopted him at the end of March this year; we're not sure he'd been to a groomer. I'm going to tell my friends. Wonderful experience!

  Brought our dog in for a bath/dry, deshedding treatment and more. He was not ready completely ready 4.5 hours later at the estimated pick up time. He was still damp, and still shedding a lot, which is a first as we have had this same package done for him at other Petco Grooming locations before and it was always done properly and within 2 hours or less. The groomer was also swearing at a dog they were currently handling and being aggressive with them. Our poor dog also came home and drank half a bowl of water (very unusual for him). Our dog is at least cleaned and had his nails done, but we will not be returning to this location. Very disappointed with the services provided and care of our sweet boy.
