  TLDR: was treated extremely rudely by petco employee, dont want to come back to this location or support them I just wanna preface my review by saying that I have been coming almost monthly to this location for mice the past 3 years after buying a corn snake here, and I haven't had a bad experience until tonight. It takes me a minute to get my mice, and the cashiers are always nice. Well tonight, I come in around 7pm and go get my mice like usual. Walk up to pay. The cashier is middle aged woman with short gray hair (wish I knew her name). She asks me the usual questions, do I have a phone number with petrol, do I want to donate. And I was very respectful while answering both questions, again I'm trying just to get out and go home to watch my embarrassing eagles team. AFTER I've paid, she asks if I want a receipt I respectfully say that I'm good. I meant this in all good faith and wasnt being disrespectful at all. This croses her line apparently, and she unleashes on me so rudely that I was genuinely confused if I missed something. She said something along the lines of 'that should have been no thank you ma'am' and then smirking at me she sarcastically says, 'see you again next time'. Literally what was her problem? She treated me extremely rudely, and I wasnt expecting it in the least. Usually stuff like this doesnt bother me, but getting treated disrespectfully by someone who's job is literally to be anything BUT rude to her customers is crazy. And not to keep going on about this, but like I work at McDonald's people disrespect me all the time, its not hard just to be the bigger person and move on as someone who serves people. I dont know why its hard for her though especially considering when I was genuinely not being that kind of customer. This experience is extremely negative and the only reason I'm probably going to continue coming here is cause gas prices are too high to go elsewhere 🙃 I'll edit this review if I learn her name, all love

  If you need any help with fish care, or knowledge. Or suggestions, This store has it all. Your "one stop shop" For me, what has changed or evolved (from years ago) is the selection of vibrant colorful fish. Freshwater. Historically, you would have to do salt water to achieve this goal. I was almost shocked to see the tanks with vibrant colored Freshwater fish to choose from. And better yet, they were not only colorful, but CHEAPER!! Win win!! Can't wait to get my little tank set up.

  Unfortunately their fish tanks almost always look neglected. Lots of algae on the glass and too many unhealthy or dead fish in them. Too many times when I have dropped by a couple of tanks have an outbreak of ICH (tiny white spots) on the fish. Today I witnessed a tank of small Angelfish mixed in with green tiger barbs. The barbs are known bullies and fin nippers and were nipping at the fins of the Angelfish. I waited around for someone to show up in the fish section to point out they should know not to mix these two species in the same tank. The short darked haired lady who finally showed up to help a customer had a very rude attitude when I was just trying to point out this issue. They need to devote more time to taking care of the fish section or perhaps eliminate it and leave fish care to those that do care. Why would I need to call you? Just go look at the condition of your fish tanks.
