- EUeira ulloaMay 28, 20261.0I am extremely heartbroken and disappointed with my experience at Banfield Pet Hospital. My mom took our family dog in after he became very sick. Blood work and X-rays were done, and she was told that everything looked normal and that they believed he had pancreatitis. He was given injections over two days, but instead of improving, he completely stopped eating and drinking water. When his condition continued to worsen, she was told to take him to a vet hospital, where unfortunately nothing was done to identify the real issue. Banfield stated that he needed an ultrasound but he needed to get it done somewhere else because they don’t do ultrasounds. Which is odd since I took my dog last month and they did two ultrasounds on her. The following day, she took him to Nogales for another opinion, where they discovered a piece of a toy lodged in his small intestine something that had not been caught earlier. By that point, the damage to his intestine was severe. He underwent emergency surgery but passed away a few days later. What makes this even more painful is that our dog died alone, far from home, and we never got the chance to properly say goodbye to him. We understand that not every case has a guaranteed outcome, but we cannot help but wonder if things could have been different had the obstruction been identified sooner. We trusted Banfield with our dog’s care, and now we are left grieving a loss that feels preventable. I hope this review encourages more thorough evaluations when pets continue worsening despite treatment. Rest in peace Codah ❤️ we miss you already

You charged us $138 today for ONE bag of lactated Ringers and the drip line that cost about $15.00 combined from Chewy and pretty much anywhere else. That is with our wellness plan discount!!! Our dog has chronic kidney disease and needs fluids daily, our Chewy order is being expedited for us - no extra charge because it’s just good customer service - thank you . We administer the fluids ourselves at home, so it’s not like we had an office call, and were desperate because of holiday weekend and didn’t want to risk running out in the event of a delay. 20 years of dogs and wellness plans - this is unbelievable!!!

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.

We are open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are closed on major holidays.
