Took my dog in for the second of three treatments for pancreatitis which was supposed to be around $300 but when I took him back to our main Banfield for the third treatment they asked if I wanted hydration and anti nausea as part of the treatment. Didn't even get the option at this Banfield they chose for me.

I’ve been going to Banfield for the past three years since I got my dog and the location I usually take him has been great. however due to a last-minute appointment, I had to take him to this location and I regret taking him there. to make a long story short, they fat shamed my dog, which is interesting because at the other location they’ve been seeing my dog for about a year now at this weight and they haven’t brought up weight issues, besides he’s a little overweight, but they didn’t go as far as saying, I’m actively taking years off his life which is such a cruel way to go about it. I am a grown woman who was scolded like a child by Dr. Garino for my dogs weight. It didn’t help that she kept saying “your pitbull” as if Banfield didn’t order the DNA test showing he’s mainly an American bully and those types of dogs tend to be thick heavy dogs. But anyways! She goes on demanding that my dog be put on a diet and has to lose a minimum of 20 pounds before I bring him back. I informed her that I don’t usually go to that location and she made it clear that she would note my chart so wherever I went next, they would know that I’ve already been “talked to” and expected to follow her orders. I want to make something clear: obviously I want my dog to be healthy and if he’s overweight, fine, I’ll take the steps to cut some pounds back but the way this vet approached me was completely unacceptable. If you’re a Banfield customer avoid this location and this vet, by all means! I’d rather go to one much farther where the vets are respectful than to go back to this office. Reading some of the negative comments on here makes me realize that there’s an issue at this location and I wouldn’t doubt it that it was the same vet.

A couple things. Felt like this was more corporate than care. Prices are out of the Sky expensive on top. What lost me however is when you claim kibble is better than homemade human grade dog food. You happen to say that to a nutritionist and lost all credibility. The question is why are you giving false information, knowledge or corporate rules cause I understand both are an issue. If you care about pets really and you find a parent willing to make homemade food you should be exchanging recipes not trying to get them to stop. How do you get your nutrition anyway? is it possible that you get it from human grade food and sometimes some supplements? Wow amazing. How would you like to eat the same dry overcooked disgusting kibble every day of your life just because they claim they add some nutrients back in after they cook them all away.? And people are paying for that? What started out as convenience has turned into the biggest marketing scam affecting our pets today. And a vet should know better.
