Staff friendly and waiting time is minimal. Educate along the way, if any questions they are answered.

I took my 13-year-old cat in for her annual wellness exam and senior bloodwork. Because she had never had blood drawn before and is an anxious cat, I elected to do the bloodwork first and wait on a urinalysis unless it proved necessary. I felt that was a reasonable and informed decision. Dr Cole was dismissive and made me feel guilty for declining additional testing during the appointment. When the lab work came back, he immediately characterized the results as signs of chronic kidney disease despite the abnormalities being quite mild and inconclusive without further testing. He also included comments about my cat having 2-years to live and prescription diets before an actual diagnosis had been made. I was shocked. I have no issue with recommending additional diagnostics—in fact, I have already scheduled follow-up testing with another veterinarian. My issue is with the manner in which information was communicated. Pet owners deserve to be treated as partners in their pet's care, not shamed for choosing a stepwise approach to diagnostics or pressured into additional procedures. I don't know if he get a commission, but it 100% felt that way. My cat is otherwise healthy, playful, and asymptomatic, and I would have appreciated a more balanced and compassionate discussion of her lab results. Unfortunately, the lack of empathy and poor bedside manner have led me to seek veterinary care elsewhere.

I feel it is my responsibility to warn other pet owners about Dr. Cole. My recent visit with my cat for a rabies vaccine was a repeat of a disturbing experience I had with him years ago, when he incorrectly diagnosed my sister’s dog with a heart murmur—a diagnosis that was later disproven by another veterinarian. During my recent visit, he spent a mere two seconds listening to my cat’s heart before mentioning LVH (Left Ventricular Hypertrophy). Let’s be clear: a stethoscope is a screening tool, not a diagnostic one. A definitive diagnosis of LVH requires an echocardiogram and a full cardiac workup. To claim a diagnosis based on a two-second listen is medically dishonest and designed specifically to scare owners into paying for expensive, unnecessary tests. When I challenged him, he was condescending and dismissive, even asking if I 'wanted to know what it is' I do in fact know what LVH is because I have it. It was clear that he was leveraging fear to drive up the cost of the visit—especially after noticing I was using a coupon. This is a predatory pattern of behavior that puts his financial gain far above the welfare of our pets. I will not be returning, and I urge others to seek care from a veterinarian who prioritizes honest, ethical treatment over high-pressure sales tactics.
