I don't typically use the vet attached to PetSmart, but I needed an appointment fast to get some answers. The techs were gentle and kind and the vet was awesome. She caught a mistake in the dosage of meds my new rescue was getting from previous care and I am so grateful. I got great care here and made a follow up appointment.

I am extremely disappointed with the care my dog received at this pet hospital. During my first visit, they failed to properly check him and did not identify that he had fleas. Because of this, the problem spread and became much worse. Before I left for California, I brought him back again to be rechecked and was told there were “no signs” of fleas. That was completely inaccurate. While I was in California, my dog still had fleas and they spread to my boyfriend’s dogs and infested his entire home. I had to spend a week helping deal with that situation. Meanwhile, my own home in Arizona had to be treated for pests, which forced me to leave. Even after all of this, my dog STILL has fleas. When I went back to PetSmart to address the issue, I was told the manager wasn’t available and to come back another time, leaving me with no help or resolution. This has caused a huge financial burden, stress, and physical discomfort—I now have bite marks on my face and body. I feel like my concerns were dismissed multiple times, and I was repeatedly given incorrect information. I expected a basic level of care and honesty, but instead this situation was mishandled from the start. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.

After reading other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one feeling disappointed and upset with the care we've received for our animals. We stopped taking our 2 dogs to this location and changed vets completely and refused to take our newest puppy. I have a 10 year old cat as well who's been to this location before and he had a scratch on his face I needed looked at. After debating on waiting to get into my now new vet, I decided to look at their appointments to get him in now (my cat has established care at this location and was there 1.5 years ago). After getting there immediately not a great response/attitude towards me and then the vet tech completely lied to me about rabies being "mandatory" for cats in AZ saying it's an annual requirement but then 3 years after this appointments shot. For dogs yes, for cats no. I almost let it slide but looked it up and asked another tech who came in and she told me no it's not required so I made them stop. So starts out with lies trying to sell/add more services then I get the estimate for the scratch and it's over $450!!! They again, tried adding services unnecessary for this care and when I asked what it was for she was trying to find her words and said it's "protocol" so not mandatory. So you're again pushing services we didn't talk about and you can't clearly explain its benefits to add money to my bill. I saw another comment saying a car salesman and I relate it to a seedy mechanic. They push services, lie about mandatory vaccines, and make mention "the vet wouldn't recommend these if it wasn't important" but again, no true beneficial explanation. Lastly, they didn't even attempt to clean hos scratch/wound. He had some scabbing and redness and dirt the vet mentioned but they sent me home with wipes I paid 32 dollars for to do it myself for 10 days. They looked at it, pushed stuff on me, and sent me on my way. Also....while talking mentions my cat is 14 pounds....but no follow up on if he has issues because of this or you just had to throw a random dig that my cat is fat 😂 like I know that but my cat is overall healthy! I've been to other Banfield locations and had ok service but would not recommend this location at all!

I was pleased to find out when the vet looked at the spots on our dog it was not necessary for a sample to be sent in the the vet knew exactly what it was and saved us additional cost.
