They were very caring for us when we did a walk in tended to my baby and they were very professional, on what he needed to have done and showed sympathy for my dog. They were very understanding when I started crying, but assured me that they would try to do the best that they could to make him better .

I called last night after my dog (4 years old) had been experiencing seizures. The first person I spoke with told me the vet (whom I shall refer to as Dr. Kevorkian) said my dog’s quality of life was low and suggested euthanasia. However, the vet assistant gave me this whole spill about how when I arrived that my dog would be examined, have blood work done, and potentially given anti-seizure medication if he had one when I brought him in before anything was decided. When I called back to let them know we were on our way, a different person spoke to me to clarify what I had been told previously and said if I brought my dog in that he would, in fact, be euthanized because “they were too full” and “they were doing euthanasia only”. To say I was shocked by the antithesis of this outcome would be an understatement. She gave me the number to a different after hours vet clinic in NLR if I wanted a second opinion. Thankfully I did because the NLR vet, who actually did her job and took the time to examine my dog instead of immediately disregarding his life, told me from the beginning that she wasn’t worried about my dog’s quality of life and gave him anti-seizure medication. Honestly, I question the integrity, credibility, and competency of Dr. Kevorkian at AVES and their staff and would not recommend at all. Always get a second opinion especially if it doesn’t feel right to you. The staff at the NLR after hours vet clinic was wonderful, compassionate, and actually did their job to examine my dog and get him the treatment he needed.

We rushed our dog here after he had his first seizure ever early this morning. So thankful for this team! The receptionist took our information quickly over the phone while we were rushing there and their staff was waiting for us in the lobby. The doctor was very knowledgeable, which helped calm our nerves and recommended we do blood work. All costs/tests were disclosed upfront and we appreciate the transparency. After we got home, we were still concerned about his behavior and they were quick to answer our questions over the phone and reassured us that they were there if his condition changed and we needed to come back. Thank you for your expertise and professionalism! I was so scared for my fur-baby and we appreciate yall taking such great care of him.
