Banfield in Jones Valley is a wonderful experience. The vets there are to notch and the whole staff is very friendly. They take wonderful care of my yorkie, Gracie.

I’ve been a Banfield client for over 10 years and have never left an unpaid balance, which is why this experience was so disappointing. At a recent visit, I was told there was a card on file and that it would be charged. Later that day, I received a call saying the card did not go through. I immediately called back, offered to pay over the phone (which they do not allow), and told them I would come by to pay in person. The office is out of my way, so this required a separate trip, but I made clear I was handling it. Despite this, I received multiple calls — including on a Saturday — and was ultimately threatened with being sent to collections over a $99 balance that was one week old, while I was literally on my way to pay it. I paid the balance in full, but the aggressive, collection-style communication toward a long-term client over such a small, newly incurred charge was unnecessary and inappropriate. Policies are one thing; discretion and customer service are another. This experience left a very bad impression, and I hope management takes a closer look at how billing follow-ups are handled.

We had used banfield for many years but I am so disgusted by our latest experiences. We went for a check up because our dog was limping and we thought we might be having some hip dysplasia. They did X-rays and said he just had arthritis and sent him home with some antiinflammatories. A few days later he was showing signs of knuckling. I brought him back in and Dr. hayes saw him again. He walked into the clinic and when we left he was brought out in a stretcher and dumped in my car. And I was told it was because he was having issues on the slippery floor. I insisted that there were bigger issues happening and they said he needed a neurologist. My dog couldn't even stand! I don't know what happened in the couple of hours between when he went in and when he left but they did something to seriously hurt him! We wound up going to the emergency vet instead and they said he had a massive heart murmur and some sort of cervical spine injury. Nothing was said from Banfield when we were there at either visit and they had obviously missed it at all other regular appointments. They are incredibly negligent and something isn't right with Dr. hayes. I very directly asked her if he needed to be put down or if there was something else and she just told me she didn't know and we would have to help him get outside to potty. He never stood or walked again when I picked him up. I believe she just didn't want to be stuck there later right before thanksgiving. They also didn't follow up for several days after thanksgiving to see how he was doing or anything until they got the report from emergency.
