- APAngel PerezApr 11, 20261.0I've been taking my pets to be groomed at petco for a few years already. Never had an issue. Recently got a new pup. We waited for her to be fully vaccinated and get her rabbies shot before taking her anywhere for a nail trim. Went to petco a couple weeks ago to see if they do walk ins for nail trimming. The groomer said yes and all I needed was my dogs vaccine book or photo proof that she had gotten her rabbies shot. I didn't have it on me and wasn't able to make it back in until today. Today it was a different groomer. I took my pups vaccine book and she asked my pups age (4 months). She then told me I needed documentation from the vet as proof that she has gotten her rabbies shot because the sticker in her booklet wasn't enough. I told her that the previous groomer I spoke with didn't tell me that. She said that because my dog is 4 months they can't take her without documentation. They can only take pups younger than 4 months with just the vaccine book, but dogs 4 months and older need documents. As I said at the beginning I've been taking my other dog to petco for a few years. Every time I've had to show proof of rabies I've always only used her booklet. They have never told me I needed actual documents. That is what the vaccine book is for. Girl today just didn't want to tend to my puppy.
