My dog was scheduled for grooming with Ralson, who called two hours after drop-off to inform me that the process would take longer than expected because my dog had developed a red rash and needed to be re-bathed with a different shampoo. This immediately concerned me, as my dog has never had any issues or sensitivities with previous groomers. Approximately an hour and a half later, I was told my dog was ready for pickup. Upon bringing her home, I noticed she was shaking her head repeatedly,something she had never done before. After three days of persistent behavior, I checked her ears and discovered a cut on her earlobe that had formed a large, hardened scab. It then became clear that the “rash” and the second bath were likely attempts to conceal an injury that occurred during grooming. When I returned to the store to discuss this, they played it down and I was told it was nothing just a hematoma, an explanation I later learned from my veterinarian was false. My vet confirmed it was indeed a cut, not a hematoma, and emphasized that I should have been informed immediately after the injury occurred. The fact that this was hidden and misrepresented is unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I feel heartbroken that my dog was hurt and that transparency and accountability were not shown. Pets are family, and they deserve to be treated with care, honesty, and respect. I hope Petco takes this matter seriously and ensures that no other pet or owner has to experience such distress.

The environment overall is very dated and I always feel overwhelmed by the cluttered displays when I enter the store… I’m surprised the store hasn’t been renovated or updated honestly. Staff is a little strange. I only say this because during a conversation with an employee, he told me that the floor was “infested with parvo”… can’t say that’s good for business, whether it be true or not.
