I've been using Banfield as my vet for over 10 years. After this last experience? Never. Again. A few months ago, I took my dog in for a comprehensive, he was also getting some dental work done. I get a call later in the day telling me that his heart rate had went low while he was under anesthesia so they had to administer something twice to make his heart rate go back to normal. Doctor Ahmed Mostafa who was new to the Southlake Banfield told me it looked like heart disease, proceeded to tell me it could cause sudden death and my dog needed to go to a cardiologist. What i didn't know, because he didn't tell me, and instead heard from a nurse when picking him up, is that my dog before going under anesthesia had a panic attack and tried to jump off the table. WHICH I SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED ABOUT. I wouldn't have had him go under had I known that. But Doctor made absolutely no mention about it. But a panic attack could literally cause all the symptoms he had under anesthesia according to the nurse. Not knowing this, I had them do a test that would check for heart issues before picking him up. I was told I would get the results in about a week. Week goes by, nothing. I check the banfield app, I literally see the results so I try to call and get them explained. The receptionist on the phone was extremely rude and said the results hadn't come in yet. When I told her, I see them in the app right now, she still proceeded to tell me they weren't there. Right after that, I get a call from the doctor to talk about his results. He tells me that the results are showing signs of heart disease, I bring up the fact that he had a panic attack on the table (which again, never told me about on the initial phone call) and couldn't that cause the issues? He said yes, but then proceeded to ramble on that he should get checked out by a cardiologist and be would refer me to one. Didn't trust him at all, so went to another vet office to get a different opinion. Did some tests to check his heart. He's totally fine. Maybe when you call parents of the dogs your treating, give them all the information so they can make an informed decision. Instead of giving not all the information to scare them into doing extra tests that weren't needed in the first place. Southlake banfield is extremely unprofessional, sketchy as hell, and I would not trust them with my dog if they were the last office on earth. Don't take your dog here.

The vets are actually really nice but Olivia who works at the front desk is condescending and acts as if it’s a bother when you call, not only has she been rude to me she’s also been rude to my parents. Angel also can be nice but called me a racist, we’ve made complaints and nothing is ever done. Find another pet hospital, very few of the staff is nice, on top of that my dog passed and I call to cancel the plan and I’m being told I owe money which was never disclosed to me at the time of service. I have every receipt and not once was I told I owe money, or received a letter in the mail. Banfield is a scam and I recommend you visit somewhere else.

Can’t seem to get appointments easily at this one and the person answering the phone acts like she works at the DMV. The last two times now I’ve driven further to the one in NRH. Service is exceptional there!
