I shop at this Petco frequently since I moved to the San Antonio area and have never had any problems until this weekend. I was in purchasing some cat food and I decided on a whim to buy two clown saltwater fish because they were on sale. I went ahead and also purchased two turbo snails, when the sales associate was getting the snails out I seen her looking at each one and then putting them back until it looked like she picked two good ones for me, I also noticed when she was picking them up they were not attached to the rocks like they would be if they were alive. They were just sitting on the rock. As she handed me the bag with the snails, she makes the statement just so you’re aware there is no refunds on saltwater purchases and I said yes I am aware of that and I went about shopping and I was looking at the snails and was wondering if they were even alive. When I went to check out, I asked the lady do you think they are alive and she said yes they are a new shipment and are just still in shock but they are alive. I went home and put them in my tank and watched them for the next 12 hours to see if they moved, they did not, they were definitely dead and we’re dead when I purchased them and the lady knew they were dead, so I went back to the store to ask for a refund anyways because it’s one thing if you purchased an animal and then it dies once you get home, but they literally sold me dead snails I took the sales clerk back to the tank where she picked up each of the remaining snails in the tank and all of them were dead. I went Back to the store the next day to see if they had removed the dead snails or if they were still trying to sell them and they were all still there for sale, they had them sitting on the rocks as if they were alive. I think this is very wrong of them trying to sale snails, they know are dead and knowing there’s no refund on saltwater purchases, it makes me think what other things they do in that store. I want to make a complaint to corporate or something, but I definitely will not shop at the store anymore..

WORST PLACE! While waiting outside to be seen by the groomers the vet came out to tell me TO LEAVE because my dogs were too loud! I knew they are loud that’s why I didn’t come in!

I scheduled my dog for a bath and a haircut. She’s been running around out at my parents house and I understood that she was a bit matted and agreed to a shorter than normal hair cut. (I usually go to PetSmart but they were fully booked.) My pets appt was scheduled for 12pm and I understood that they would be a little backed up. I stopped in at 4pm to get an update and was told she just needed to be dried up and would take about 15-20 mins. I then made a round to Ross and then was called at 4:22 that they needed to rush my pet to a vet because they accidentally cut a part of her toe off while grooming ( I was told it was done and just needed drying.) I couldn’t understand what was going on because the sweet rep I was talking to was pretty much rushing me off the line. At about 5pm I received a call from the Vet confirming info and getting release of info and completing check in process. At about 7pm I received a text from the pet smart rep that my pet was done from the vet and ready for pick up at the store. I was towards the end of church and told her I’d be there in about 20 mins. When I arrived to the store; it had already been closed and my pet was so excited to see me and I noticed her cut was not completed and neither were her nail clippings. I was rushed out of the store yet again and assured that I wouldn’t be charged for the “services” and gave me some free toys for my pet and some pain meds. After arriving home, my pet starting bleeding and after contacting the vet I was told I would be charged a revisit fee and any additional fees pertaining to whatever care they needed to do. They didn’t give me some over the phone care advice to do in the meantime. I am HIGHLY disappointed in the level of care AND service at this location. I understand it was busy, it’s a holiday week and what not. But her services felt so rushed and uncared for. I made an appt to make sure my pet was able to be taken care of but it seems she was placed at the end of the line and was only care for when I inquired about an update.
