My fiancee has been taking his dogs to Banfield for years under the thought that they were receiving the best of care possible. A few weeks ago we noticed his female dog began to yelp in pain due to mouth discomfort. We took her to Banfield for an appointment, they mentioned what they thought might be the cause, and referred her to a specialist. This dog has received two teeth cleanings a year for several years in an attempt to keep her healthy.
Upon visiting with the specialist, they advised that she had level 4 periodontal disease in several teeth. In all, they ended up needing to extract twelve teeth. Somehow Banfield never caught that in all of her teeth cleanings and this poor dog has been living in pain. This could have been a completely different or avoided situation had they done their job. Instead, it costs thousands of dollars to fix what they should have noticed a long time ago. If they are not qualified or competent enough to take care of dogs teeth, they should not offer cleanings. It's deceptive to lead owners into thinking that their dog is being cared for and to make people pay hundreds of dollars for "care" that ends in the dog being left in misery.

I give two stars because all though my dog was held all day from a 10:00 a.m. appointment the doctor was informative on how to care for my pet. They are not suited well in communication and giving necessary updates. First, I had set the appointment the night before to be a in person visit, but they called me in the morning on the day of letting me know they only had drop offs. This was the first time I ever dropped off my dog, and I was kind of hesitant, but I really needed her to get her shots and I was willing to be accommodating. I stayed in the area to keep busy so that when they gave me the call to pick her up, I would be close, but I never got a call. I had to call them and at this point it had been at least two hours and they explained to me that the doctor hadn’t even examined her yet that her examination would be in the next 30 minutes and they would give me a call with an update. Another hour had passed and no update was given to me so I drove back to the store and went inside and asked for an update on my dog and they let me know that the staff went to lunch, which was already annoying because no one ever called me with an update. It didn’t seem like my dog was a priority. I understand that lunch breaks are necessary, but if you give someone information that they will receive a call later and don’t get one. It’s kind of unsettling by the time I picked her up it was 4 PM. She still wasn’t ready, I was going to take her home anyway, because I did not plan to leave her all day. I didn’t realize this would be an all day process, but at this point, the doctor had already examined her. I probably won’t be returning back to this location so just a heads up if you plan on going here.

We brought our dog in for some pretty intense pain. We were frantic and stressed but the team at Banfield helped calm us and layout the plan moving forward. Happy to say she is pain free!

This location is really not pleasant to go to compared to the Pasadena location. Ever since I’ve moved closer to Pearland, this location has shown a lot of unprofessional behaviors. Everything takes forever, there is no communication either. I’ve had too many problems with this location after given them many chances, I probably will never go to this location again.

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
