I just don’t like this place. Like others, I fell for the free first visit. I brought my dog in twice for a bladder infection and both times they pushed getting all extensive, expensive testing done. It seems very impersonal. And I used them for years. Every time they tried their hardest to upsell me. I understand providing the best care for pets is their job. However, my current vet does that without suggesting I spend thousands of dollars for a bladder infection. They are overpriced for the lack of quality care in my opinion. My current vet has comparable pricing but 10x the care and compassion. I’ll never forget the last time I took my dog here, she did everything she could to run away. And she was senior at that point. I had to carry her into the clinic it shattered my heart. I can’t imagine what it was like for my animal when I had to leave her there for a day. I see so many negative reviews mentioning their suspicions about what happens behind closed doors there. I now feel the same. Don’t leave your pet alone with these people. I saw the negative reviews when I first brought my pet here so hopefully I can save your family some heart break and money. Listen to the bad reviews. Even if the staff changes I think it will remain the same. I saw plenty of staff changes, the negative feel of the clinic remained. It’s a chain of clinics they operate based on what the higher chain is telling them to do.

Dr. Penner is the third vet we have seen for our dog’s man parts. As his fur parents we knew there was a problem but had previously been told there was not an issue by two other Banfield locations. I’m glad that we persistently asked each vet because he did have an infection in the end. Instead of pushing off my concerns, as previous vets had done, Dr. Penner asked more in-depth questions and recommended tests that the other vets didn’t even give us the option to run. After a few days on antibiotics we can already see a massive difference in our boy. We didn’t even realize how lethargic he had gotten compared to where he normally was. We still have meds to finish and to go back to make sure the infection is gone but his road to recovery is looking great.
