The Veterinarians and techs truly care about the animal patients and are very kind/informative. They triage pets with utmost urgency when they feel appropriate. Brought my cat into this clinic as he was showing signs of a blockage, which could be fatal, and they took him back right away. Thankfully they expressed him and everything came out, they took a look over him just to make sure they did not see any concerning signs/symptoms. Did not charge me for the visit and they did not recommend expensive, unnecessary diagnostics that would likely come back normal; they care about the animals and their customers. Earned a loyal customer, thank you so much for caring and treating everyone with kindness/morality :)

Veterinary hospital reviews are always going to be a hit or miss. People are always going to be upset about something. This is an in-depth review so skip to the bottom if you want the tldr.
I came in early on a Monday morning for urgent care services and I expected to pay those kinds of prices - veterinary services are not cheap. Anyways, we were placed into a room, we filled out some paperwork and we waited. We came in right around a shift change so we had some waiting to do and we didn't mind - my pup was stable but they let me know that if he ever became unstable to just knock on the door or open the door and holler and they'd come get him. We heard some hustle and bustle behind the door, but I worked in the veterinary field for almost 10 years, I get what's going on behind those doors, do yalls thing.
It was probably about 30-40 mins before a tech came in to get some history on my pup - why we're here, how long it's been going on, what his normal demeanor is like and what's different now, all while she observed his general behavior with us in the room -- he laid in my husband's lap calm as a cucumber. Of course never exhibiting any of the signs of why we came, isn't that how it always works. I usually feel rushed at this stage, trying to get out all the info that I want so they have a full picture, but by the end, I felt like I was rambling and I was just trying to find things to say. I felt like nothing was missed and everything was gone over. She took him back, took some vitals, doc took a look at him.
Within another 20 minutes, the tech came back in with a plan from the doctor. I worked finances in this field and this is where a lot of the problems usually occur. Because I worked in the field for a very long time, I had an idea of what tests they were going to want to do and I discussed with my husband before we got there as to what I was okay with doing and what I wasn't and why. I asked what was absolutely necessary and if there were things that we could get away with not doing and she said she'd run it by the doctor and get back with me. She came back with some options and I never felt pressured to do anything I didn't want to do and I was given the importance of every test and what the results would give me and ultimately the decision was left in my hands. They never made me feel like I was doing a disservice to my pup by doing this over that or anything.
They did their thing, they went over every result with me and let me ask all the question. Even if I felt like my questions were dumb, they never made me feel like I was dumb.
They do have a cash discount and a processing fee for using cards, so what. Not a big deal, get over it. We saw Dr. Rivera and her assistant's name started with a K, I'm so sorry, I can't remember her name, but because of these two people, I'd highly recommend coming here. They were so nice, personable, and knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for a better experience at a time when I was so worried about the well-being of my pup. Thank you for the bottom of my heart.

I have an older rescue, by the name of Shaggy, who also goes by Mr. Boombastic. Shags is a Lhasa apso/Shih Tzu mix and has a bad back. We are so incredibly blessed to have come across Allure, and even more blessed to have found our way to Dr. Castaneda. It became evident quite quickly that she would treat Shaggy as if he was one of her own 4 legged friends. She was his normal veterinarian as well as his acupuncturist, and ensured Shags is living his healthiest life. We are moving out of state, but if we could pack up Dr. Castaneda to take with us, we certainly would! I do not hesitate recommending her to trust with your 4 legged friends. There is no one better!

Leaving this 2 Star Review we had a injury to one of our dogs first day we brought her 02/07 we spoke with a great tech who helped guide us in cost and helped us as much as they could paying $650ish after receiving a $900 quote the first time. Her stitches came out today 02/08 we rushed her here to be charged $470 to restitch her area and were told some of the things the last assistant didn’t tell us we needed. As we are sitting here waiting there is a bunch of inappropriate conversation you can hear in the back amongst terrible language. This is a professional place and matter. Imagine going through the worst feelings and hear the doctor and assists in the back speaking horribly. I hope we never have to comeback to the place and we told the assistant if her stitches come out again in less then 24 hours it would be $470 again and the response was yes.
This is a complete unprofessionally ran vet.

I read all these negative reviews and I’m honestly shocked because it’s in no way the Allure Animal Hospital I’ve been to. These people are great. There are some spots for them to improve, but don’t we all have places to improve? Ultimately, I know that my dog got top notch care because when you talk with the vets, it’s clear that they are very confident in their skills. Dr. Maria Lara is the doctor who performed our dogs surgery and even saw us for a follow up 2 weeks later and she has been nothing but an angel. She gave us such comfort in our stress and we knew the care he was going to receive was going to be thorough and perfect.
Ultimately, the cost is going to be higher than any of us would like to pay but it’s a vet HOSPITAL. Just as if you went to a human hospital it’s going to cost more than a doctors visit. Ultimately I have no complaints here. If the high prices of pet hospitals offends you, get pet insurance rather than taking it out on the hospital.
My only suggestion for improvement would be better communication. To be clear, we were never kept out of the loop. As an example, Dr. Lara had called us at 10pm (FYI that was well after 12 hours of her shift, that we know of. She promised us she would perform our dog’s surgery and she stayed to do it) and said his surgery went well and he was in recovery. However the Dr. in the morning had told us his surgery had started at 7pm (although I’m sure this wasn’t correct). We were supposed to be made aware of when the surgery was supposed to start but with all the emergent surgeries that came in that night, the pre surgery called slipped through the cracks. And understandably knowing that there were multiple other emergent pet surgeries at the same time, we understand how this could have slipped her mind, no blame there at all. Another example would be a miscommunication between the Dr. and the tech and us about his stitches and whether they needed to be removed or not. Knowing what stitches look like, when I checked them when I got home, I knew they were internal and dissolvable so no removal was needed. Although it was easy for me to figure it out, some people aren’t going to know what they are looking at and may get confused by small miscommunications like that. But these miscommunications were small in comparison to the abundant phone calls I got from them. They would call me every 4-6 hours while my dog was waiting for surgery just to let me know how he is doing. It’s understanding the stress of the dog parents in these times that make these little gestures like that really matter.
We really enjoyed the patient/staff relationship.
Cory was phenomenal when we saw him and Dr. Lara tonight. Very personable and willing to answer every question.
We also really appreciate Dr. Lara and her staff getting a second opinion/consults on his x-rays and ultrasound to ensure that before performing the surgery it was needed and what exactly the problem is and where. Because of this second opinion we were able to find another issue that didn’t show in the original images and be better prepared going into his surgery. It is things like these examples that have us recommending Allure.
