Dr. Anderson and the staff at Pointe 183 did a great job taking care of my kitties during their boarding stay and annual. One of the staff obviously grew attached to Arnold, so I know he got a lot of love while he was there!

Awesome staff, brand new clinic! I was dreading taking our dog, Cheeto, to the vet because he's pretty high anxiety with that. Took him in to Pointe 183 (as a new patient) today and it went so smoothly. I was stunned and so relieved. They were very patient with him and took their time. 10/10 recommend

Frequently Asked Questions About Pointe 183 Animal Hospital & Urgent Care
My pet ate something they weren't supposed to. What should I do?
Inducing vomiting in pets may seem like a quick solution when they ingest foreign objects, but it can sometimes be dangerous. This procedure can lead to trauma or irritation of the esophagus, especially if the ingested material is sharp or includes hazardous items like batteries. It’s crucial to consult your veterinarian immediately if your pet consumes a foreign object. In many cases, we can safely induce vomiting using injectable medication, minimizing the risk of complications such as stomach ulcers. However, there are situations where surgical intervention may be necessary to remove the foreign object. Always prioritize your pet's safety by seeking professional guidance in these scenarios.
Why do you recommend dental cleanings so often?
Dental cleanings are essential for maintaining your pet's overall health and well-being. Starting annual cleanings at a young adult age can significantly help prevent serious medical issues related to dental disease, such as infections and organ damage. Regular dental care not only keeps your pet’s teeth and gums healthy but also saves you money in the long run. By addressing dental issues early, we can avoid complicated and costly extractions down the line. Invest in your pet's health today with routine dental cleanings and ensure they enjoy a happy, healthy life for years to come!
What kind of dog/cat food do you recommend?
Recent research has raised concerns about the safety of grain-free diets for pets, linking them to an increased risk of Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), a serious heart condition. To ensure your furry friend receives the best nutrition, we do not recommend grain-free options. Instead, we advocate for trusted brands like Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin, and Purina. These brands are backed by veterinary research and are specifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of pets. They also offer specialized diets tailored to address various medical conditions, ensuring your pet stays healthy and happy. Choose wisely for your pet’s diet and prioritize their long-term health with these reputable options!
Why do you require a fecal test annually?
At Pointe 183 Animal Hospital & Urgent Care, we require annual fecal screenings for the following reasons: Early detection: Many parasites don't show obvious symptoms, making early detection crucial. Fecal testing can identify these hidden threats before they cause serious health issues. Zoonotic risks: Some intestinal parasites, like roundworms and hookworms, can be transmitted to humans. Protecting your pet also protects your loved ones. Preventative care: Early treatment can prevent complications and improve your pet's overall health and well-being.
