  Not very helpful employees. I left after they said they would help me get some fish. We went to petsmart and was immediately helped. I don’t think I’ve ever been greeted at this location.

  Very disappointed with my experience at Petco — extremely unprofessional service. We drove nearly 40 minutes and arrived around 8:30 PM. As soon as we walked in, I asked an employee if they had saltwater fish. He confirmed they did, so my wife and I went straight to the fish section and quickly chose the fish we wanted to purchase. There was no employee available to assist us, and I had to go searching for help. When I found someone, he was clearly not focused on his job and appeared distracted instead of helping customers. I waited while he continued his conversation and even used his phone before acknowledging me. After waiting again, I was finally told that they could not sell any live animals because of a “15-minute before closing” policy. This was never mentioned when we entered the store, and we were already inside well before that supposed cutoff time. This entire situation was a waste of time and gas. The lack of communication, poor customer service, and unprofessional behavior from staff is unacceptable. If this policy exists, customers should be clearly informed upon entering — not after being made to wait. Very frustrating experience

  I had a very disappointing experience with Petco. I purchased 6 fish, and within just 24 hours, 2 of them died. When I contacted the store, they refused to offer any exchange or refund. Their explanation was that my tank’s pH level was too high, and that caused the fish to die. Honestly, that reasoning makes no sense. If the water quality was truly the issue, then all of the fish in the tank should have been affected—not just the 2 that I had just purchased. The rest of my fish are perfectly fine, which strongly suggests that the problem was with the fish I bought, not my tank. It’s frustrating to spend money on pets that are clearly unhealthy and then be denied any kind of support or accountability. Customer service was unhelpful and dismissive, and they didn’t seem interested in resolving the issue fairly. I expected better quality and better service. Very disappointed, and I won’t be coming back.
