They are pricey for not even cutting my dog hair. They charged me 80 for cutting his nails and around his eyes so he can see. I wanted his hair cut short but they said he wiggles. Not bitting snapping nothing just wiggling. Soooo that stopped y’all from cutting his hair be fr.

I’ll start off by saying that the star is strictly for the associates that I have had at the registers. They are always very friendly and helpful. Now it stays at one star because of the grooming experience. I have a 7-month-old puppy. We scheduled her first grooming appointment with Jessica, grooming manager. We dropped off our pup and within 20 minutes I was called and told to pick her up because they couldn’t groom her. I understood and asked for advice before trying again. After that visit I was blocked from scheduling via the app and had to call prior. Fine. About a month later I tried again. Taking every single but of advice Jessica gave me. Once again, I was called after 30 minutes to pick her up. She told me several times that my pup was not aggressive but nervous. She then mentioned a friend of hers that is a groomer outside of Petco. She even had makeshift cards with his info on it ready to hand out. My puppy is now blacklisted from ever getting groomed at any Petco location. If she cannot handle a nervous puppy then she should really consider a different profession. Also checked out the yelp reviews and there are several others of lover the last couple years sharing the same experience with the same groomer. Stay away and get you pet groomed somewhere else. Not worth the headache.
I have been taking my dog to Petco grooming for over two years and have never had a groomer say they could not safely groom her face or suggest that they might cut her. My dog is a long-haired breed and does get matted at times, which Petco has always handled appropriately in the past.
At check-in for this appointment, I was unexpectedly upcharged $25 for a “seasonal shampoo” because my dog was matted. This was confusing, as during previous visits—including the last time she was matted—I was charged a matting fee and extra time, not an additional shampoo fee.
After the grooming, the groomer was rude and told me not to bring my dog back, stating that she moves too much when they are clipping around her face and that they might end up cutting her, despite also saying they have completed the service many times before.
Since this appointment, my dog has been shaking, which is extremely concerning. I was not offered patience, alternatives, or solutions for a sensitive dog—only blame and an unprofessional response.
Given my long history with Petco grooming without any issues, this experience was shocking and disappointing. I will not be returning to this location and would caution other pet owners, especially those with long-haired or sensitive dogs, to proceed carefully.

We had a very disappointing experience with the grooming service at Petco – 2844 W Grand Pkwy N, Katy, TX 77449.
We have a Bernedoodle puppy (born April 2025). A couple of months ago, we brought him here for his first grooming. He was understandably nervous, but the staff took him in, evaluated him, and even called us shortly after to say he was doing great - and they completed the service without any issues.
Today, we had a scheduled appointment at 9:30 AM. We arrived on time. Our puppy was again a bit nervous (which is normal for a puppy), but after less than one minute inside, they brought him back and refused to provide the service. The explanation we were given was that it was a “busy Sunday” and that the dog was “giving signals” that he didn’t want grooming - which is confusing and contradictory to our previous experience at the same location.
Instead, we were advised to come on a weekday or use mobile grooming. If Sundays are too busy for puppies or for dogs with thick coats, that should be clearly stated before appointments are accepted.
The interaction, especially from a manager named Tiffany, felt dismissive. There were no calming techniques, no treats, no effort - just a quick refusal. It honestly felt like they simply did not want to deal with a hairy puppy on a busy day.
We wasted our time, rearranged our Sunday, and left feeling frustrated and disappointed. This location lacks consistency, preparation, and customer care. I would not recommend this grooming service, especially for puppies.
