I feel Banfield is overpriced and overrated. Just my personal experience. Was everyone nice? Absolutely. But too corporate and expensive.

I have 2 Dobermans Tiny and Messiah. The reason I gave them 3 stars is because we never got to meet the veterinarian. Front office staff and the technicians were all we ever dealt with. I’m a very personable person and to not come out and talk to pet owners is not for me. If I had questions workers had to go back and forth to relay messages…just come out the back and talk. I ended my services so I get to know my veterinarian. I took my dog to the Humble, Tx location

I dont usually write reviews good or bad but I felt it necessary this time. Both of my fur babies have been with Banfield since 8 weeks, over 8 years now. I have never had any major issues until my dog has a life threatening condition (pyrometra). I initially took Bella because she was leaking a milky fluid, they tell me it's possibly pyrometra, an infection in her uterus that could be life threatening if not addressed right away. She needed to come back for testing and surgery if she did in fact have it. Fast forward 3 days I notice she's laying around, not eating, seemingly sick. I call Kingwood can't get through (come to find out they were in a power outage, understandable) there phones were offline, I then call Humble Banfield, I tell them the reason for my call, she may have pyrometra, Im scared something is wrong. The person who answered immediately tells me she doesn't know anything about it totally unprofessional and unsympathetic, sounded like she was a customer in the store who just answered the phone. she says she'll talk to the doc. She comes back to say the doctor says if she does have Pyrometra it would be too sensitive of a surgery for him and he referred me to Blue Pearl clinic in spring where the price to spay my dog would've been between $4k-$5K, thank God they were nice and didn't charge me a dime for the visit.or the ultrasound that did confirm pyrometra. By this time I call Kingwood back, they answer "is this an emergency or can you hold" I say emergency, I could hear her rolling her eyes through the phone, then she's says ok so what's your emergency, I explain the reason for my call, she seemingly remembers my dog and tells me there is no doctor that could do the surgery that day or the next day, then places me on hold saying she was going to reach out to a doctor or Mgr and never returned. The one time I needed empathy regarding my dog and her situation, none was shown. I will never allow either of my dogs to be seen at Banfield going forward. I took her to a local Vet who did an awesome job on her surgery and post op and the customer service was warm, understanding and empathetic to the situation. And they had never seen my dogs before..the place that I've payed over $100 a month to for the last 8yrs couldn't even offer a smile over the phone or show any genuine concern.
