I had a very disappointing experience at Petco today. I brought my dogs, Zulema and Napoleón, in for grooming services, and everything turned into a frustrating situation.
I had both of their vaccination records with me, yet they kept making excuses and even made me call the veterinarian who administered the vaccines to verify the information. Despite providing everything they asked for, they still refused to bathe Zulema, claiming she was biting the staff — which is very surprising, since she has always been groomed at other places without any issues. Honestly, it felt like they just didn’t want to do their job.
As for Napoleón, I was originally told it would be $70 for a full grooming service (bath, haircut, etc.), so it doesn’t make sense that the haircut would only be $10 when they ended up charging me $60 just for the bath. On top of that, they didn’t cut his hair as requested, returned him with a lot of knots still in his fur, and told me he had been very aggressive — which again is not consistent with his behavior at other grooming locations.
Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, poorly handled, and overpriced for the quality of service provided. I expected much better care, transparency, and professionalism.
