    Love their groomers. So glad one in back on Westheimer. Moxie looks so much better after going there. Just terrific groomers

    We absolutely love our groomer! When she switched Petco locations, we didn’t think twice about tracking her down. That’s how amazing she is with our dog. She’s patient, gentle, and always leaves our pup looking and feeling great. You can tell she truly cares about the animals she works with. We’re so happy we found her again! Thanks Leslie!

    This was the worst grooming experience I have ever had. I would give a negative score if possible. From reception to delivery of my dog, the customer service was terrible. I have been very pleased with this location's grooming services in the past, but this 'New' grooming team casts a poor light on the company as a whole due to this department. The intake process was unprofessional, and the person did not know the computer system or package inclusions for the grooming appointment booked. From the very beginning, I was pushed up charges for my groom. When the actual groomer came to inspect my dog, they also immediately started adding charges. I should have left immediately as my dog, who is normally very social and excited to go to Petco, was nervous and started shaking and whining. First, I was told I was too early for my appointment, so I needed to come back later, then I was told the 8th free groom I had booked would be $113. Reluctantly, I left my pet in their terrible care. I asked for the longest cut and the dog was completely shaved down to his skin. The groomer said he had some mats. I asked her to show me before I left, and she pulled his ears back and searched for the mats. There were none. My dog has curly ears and I brush him everyday. I also asked for his nails to be buffed, which I knew was a $12 extra fee. His nails were only trimmed. They are still sharp and squared causing cuts when he scratches. I was extremely disappointed when I picked up my dog. He was crying and running for the door. I was repeatedly asked to tip my groomer and if I had any good comments to provide. No and NO. I feel like the up charges were merely an effort to increase the ticket total therefore increasing the gratuity amount for the individual. The checkout process was painful and took entirely too long as my dog waited shaking with anxiety. Unfortunately, my dog is traumatized as he will not socialize with my other dog and goes and hides in other rooms. He normally wants to be with me at all times when at home. The whole experience was very bad for me and my dog. I consider myself a logical person and understand this is a service provided to me, but the staff was unprofessional, not courteous at all and completely rude. The groomer was TERRIBLE. I will never let her near my dog again. She was rude, unprofessional and did not have a courteous or good attitude at all. She didn't even understand that my dog was on preventative care with Simparico Trio. She kept asking if he was positive for heartworms. He is not. I showed her my pet records and said I could call my vet for verification. I was patient and found the dog records on my phone, so she finally accepted the test administered May 2025. She should definitely not be in any customer facing role. Hopefully she is better with the animals than people. I work in customer service and understand the pressures and expectations can be extremely high, but this experience was one of the worst I've had and my pet suffered for it.
