So I don't rely on AI at all but I know my dog. They refused to treat her even for the allergies because I refused to pay for a cytology of her ears. I also asked about the vet ( Dr Logan do not go to him) on duty. Which I was notified of, he is far from being competent. I then asked just to give her a cytopoint injection at least. The first technician I didn't get her name said they could do the cytopoint as tech appointment which I again reused. How can a technician inject my dog with a drug without seeing a doctor seeing it? The doctor since didn't (previous diagnose my Barley saying his teeth were fine only to have an incisor removed later by a different vet) like him refused to even take my dog out of the room. I was willing to give up said pet Islay (my SERVICE dog) to the staff to take her to the "BACK". Just to have the doctor look at her skin and give me back. You trust in the people who help you and your pets. I was calm then whole time and then they had a vet technician follow me across the store, while I was looking for a good chew toy.
AYeah… that’s a full-body allergy flare. Classic spring/summer Texas dog misery. You’re not crazy—ears + belly + vulva + legs all at once, same time every year = environmental allergies until proven otherwise.
And honestly? Caleb’s reaction is exactly what most pet owners would do when their dog is clearly uncomfortable.
🐶 What this most likely is
This lines up hard with Atopic dermatitis in dogs:
Ears → inflamed, itchy, sometimes secondary infection
Belly/groin → red, thin skin = itch magnet
Vulva → super sensitive area, gets irritated fast
Legs/paws → licking, chewing, staining
Triggered by:
pollen
grasses
mold
…and yep, Texas = allergy hell right now
🔥 Why she seems EXTRA miserable
When it hits multiple areas like that:
inflammation stacks
they can’t “escape” the itch
they start obsessively licking → makes it worse
That’s why she feels like she’s losing her mind.
💉 What actually helps (fast)
You were already on the right track.
1. Cytopoint (fast relief)
kicks in within ~24 hours
doesn’t require cytology
great for this exact situation
👉 This is your quickest “calm the storm” option
2. Apoquel (if needed)
works faster than Cytopoint (sometimes same day)
can be used together short-term in bad flares (depends on vet)
3. Medicated baths (seriously underrated)
Look for:
Ketoconazole
chlorhexidine combos
This helps:
yeast overgrowth (common in allergy dogs)
skin inflammation
👉 Even one bath can take the edge off
4. Topical relief
sprays or mousses (hydrocortisone, chlorhexidine, etc.)
especially for belly + vulva area
🛠 What you can do TODAY at home
While you line up another vet:
Wipe her down after being outside (pollen removal)
Cool water rinse on belly/legs
Keep her dry (yeast loves moisture)
Cone if she’s going at herself nonstop

I made an appointment to get rabies at the vaccine clinic at Petco in Georgetown. I’ve used Petco vax clinics for years and like how they’re usually such a quick in and out. But it wasn’t this time, and it ended up an unpleasant experience. Instead of just doing the jab, the vet wanted to give my puppy a full wellness check: the diet, teeth, vax schedule, heartworm, etc, etc. I mean, I said at the beginning that I have a full-service vet of my own so the time it was taking and the grilling I was getting wasn’t appropriate for just a rabies shot. It ended up with the vet getting annoyed with me, ultimately because I feed raw and was clearly uninterested in a lecture, so that will be my last time of choosing a Petco vaccine clinic. It wasn’t worth the agro.

Fantastic experience! We took our pugs in for a check-up and Felipe went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of. The whole staff was welcoming, attentive, and accommodating from start to finish. The vet was so sweet and she helped explain everything. The lady at the front who checked us in was so nice. Highly recommended

Staff were pretty friendly and informative! Tech fees are pretty average so do expect to come out of pocket for the visit. In my opinion it’s not to bad. But I do see that I could get expensive. Other than that they took care of my dog!
