  My experience was also my daughter's experience. Been a long time ago but has been on my mind and I want it known before I can no longer do it. My daughter brought her new little Minpin in for grooming, early 2023. His name is Brasco, my daughter's name was Chelsea Macalik. She bought him from a very reputable breeder for $500.00 and was head over hills in love. When she brought him in she brought his papers and vet records. When she picked him up the girl refused to look for his papers, claimed, "we have stacks of paper and I don't have time to go through them" , and flatly refused. I was waiting in car and was headed back in to speak with a manager. My daughter would not agree, didn't want to get the girl in trouble and have it taken out on Brasco whe she took him in next. No need for her to have worried. He's never been back to Petco. The girl has hopefully moved on to a non customer service job because she was not good at it. My daughter passed away last year and we are now caring for her little Minpin. We love him as we promised her we would. As for registration papers, of course they don't matter since she was never planning to breed him. Was it because he was purchased rather than adoped? Her personal decision and right. I know in my heart it wasn't a difficult ask she had, just a lazy butt Petco groomer.
