This office is so wildly unprofessional. The receptionist always seems to have a bit of an attitude.
Firstly, at my last visit I had expressed that I wanted to have a large mass removed from my dogs hindquarter. (That another Banfield had advised me against previously) The veterinarian recommended we do a biopsy. I agreed, this clinic never even sent the biopsy out, so my dog 16 y/o endured an unnecessary procedure that came to nothing. This was on June 26th, I was advised that it could take up to 2 weeks for the results to come back. I called the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd week. 1st week, it's not back yet, 2nd week, we have the results but the doctor that saw you does not work at this location he will get back to you when he is here, 3rd week, we actually never got the biopsy to the lab. Fast forward to today, August 1st, her slow growing mass has tripled in size. I look up possible causes and it turns out that disturbing the mass could cause an acceleration in growth. I was not made aware of this risk. I would have have opted for a biopsy after the removal of the mass.
I called this morning as soon as they opened. The receptionist proceeded to tell me "I am not trying to be rude, but this is not my problem" and let me know that this was an issue only the manager could handle and that she would have her call me back. It has been over 5 hours and I have still not heard back from them. Her mass has since ruptured and is now leaking fluid. I followed up to let them know and was met with the same lack of care and "I will have her call you back"
This office is poorly run. 1.5 hour vet visits have historically taken 3-4. I waited 30 minutes in the lobby the last time I was there to be serviced for my appointment. Incredibly disappointed in the lack of professionalism and care this line of work requires.
Update: After Banfield gave me the run around for 4 days, I gave up and found a different vet. I have been notified that surgery now would not provide a good prognosis. I have been advised to consider end of life care for my otherwise thriving girl. She was mobile, happy, eating well, and enjoying walks and treats up until this last week. If this team did not lose her biopsy sample, this mass would have been removed weeks before these problems arose. I will have to say goodbye to my girl before her time because of this team's incompetence.
I highly recommend the Animal Medical & Surgical Hospital of Frisco team. Please take your pets there instead. They are 1000x more competent and compassionate.
